The Lebanese government should provide social services to the South first, instead of squandering its money to rich businessmen. That's how you get the support of the people, not by ignoring them, and by targetting the leaders who have provided for them for decades.

Great. Give them weapons so they can learn that the only way to solve a conflict is through violent means (or taking Israeli soldiers). That will only alienate Palestinians and Lebanese further in the world's eyes. The only way to empower is through education and proper infrastructure. Pakistan should float a few rupees that way and help in rebuilding Lebanon. If people can just be taught hope instead of despair, things would be much better for Muslims.

You take the education and Hezb gets the most modern weapons...so the jews will think twice attacking Lebanon...howwwwzzzzzzzaaaaaat... :)

I would defiantly support any aid to Lebanese people, but it seems near impossible for Pakistan. Any military aid will put Pakistan on spot light that will draw international scrutiny of world powers. Recently a British journalist asked American Ambassador to Lebanon; “Is not ironic that in Lebanon you are providing aid to people and to Israel precision guided missile”? America can get away with it but Pakistan cannot.

America wants to change Middle East, for good or bad, is remains to be seen but defiantly for their own interests, they will not hesitate to exhaust any option in doing so, and it seems that they will take whatever comes with it. Lebanese who have seen conflicts first hand are far away from giving up. If Israel digs deep, they will dig deeper…their history shows how resilient they are. The only thing Israel had in their hand was to give a knock out blow to Hezbollah with their air campaign but they failed, now they are in a limbo either to invade South Lebanon or ask the International forces to intervene so that a buffer zone can be established, which will not work.

The international force will also face attacks then, and I have no doubt that new millitant groups will form just like they did in Iraq.

A solution that America and Israel won't like. A cease fire at first, and then a free and fair election in Lebaonon which will enable for the repressed population of South Lebanon to rise up and take charge of their destiny.
