How old were you...

When you first started wearing make up?

I think I was 13 or 14.

What age do you think is ‘too young’ for girls to be wearing makeup?

Re: How old were you...

I was 21.

Used to wear eye liner sometimes when my mum wasnt looking, but foundation, eye shadow and all that jazz started after I finished uni.

Re: How old were you...

14

I started wearing makeup when I was in sixth form so I must have been 16/17. Even then it was just mascara, eyeliner and lipgloss.

I don't think there's a definitive age to start wearing makeup. It depends on the individual. My sister is 16 and she doesn't wear anything but my cousin who is the same age as her wears more than me. That being said I think wearing makeup too young just looks bad. I see girls as young as 10 caked up and it just gives me the creeps.

Re: How old were you...

21'ish- after graduating from uni. I remember once a larki trying to make me wear kajal for an inauguration dinner and my eyes wouldn't stop tearing throughout the dinner. They all made fun of me! :( Even now, its usually only sunscreen and eyeliner with chapstick unless I'm going out- then i'll do the whole nine yards!

When I was 10 I got chicken pox and had a couple scars on my face. I used to cover those up with whatever base I could find in my mom's dresser. I think I started the eye liner around 13-14. I don't wear much beyond that even now, other than occasional blush and lipstick.

Re: How old were you...

i was 14. I dont think any age is 'too young' If a girl wants to wear make up then why not. If were going baaackk to when i was a kid then i used to LOVE putting putting my mums make up on...
I even had kiddies make up... I dont mind. I think its cute. Not the heavy stuff like foundation etc. Jus the stuff like blush/lipstick/eyeshadow/ and a bit of mascara its so sweet. aaahhh.... cant wait to have a baby gaaaaallll!!!!!

18-19...i see girls are starting much earlier tho

Re: How old were you...

MAYBE 17, but only to weddings or on Eid. I started wearing light makeup (eyeliner and foundation) regularly probably when I was 20 or 21.

Re: How old were you...

I would wear the occasional lipstick or gloss, kajal/eyeliner when i was around 14-15 but my ammi was very much against makeup. And folks in my circle didnt really wear makeup anyways so it wasnt a big deal. I didnt own a foundation till i was 20 or 21 i think.

I would say around 14 15...I always had dark circles that I hated. I used to wear concealor under my eyes.....just to look healthy at least. Then came Kajal. Foundation started when I was 18 or 19..which was followed by my massive collection that I currently own.

Re: How old were you...

19...but very simple...I hate make-up...just mascara, eye-liner and lip gloss is enough for me...I HATE foundation...makes me feel like a cake!

Re: How old were you...

mom was pretty against it...

I started at 16 - eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipgloss
22- I started wearing concealer, mascara, foundation
Lipstick came at 24 :D

Re: How old were you...

it was after I finished my MBA and I was 23 at that time :D

Re: How old were you...

you mean officially? (because i dabbled with my mom's makeup, mostly her lipsticks :D) errr...maybe 10 or 11. i used to be able to put on eyeliner much better than my cousins who were all older. but that was just for special occasions. eyeshadow i started putting on when i hit highschool.

Re: How old were you...

I started w/ lip gloss at 7-8. And eyeliner/eye makeup at 13.

I'm 19 now and I still don't wear foundation, concealor, blush or even powder. I stick w/ light eyeliner/kajol, sunscreen w/ SPF 90 and lip balm/gloss or a sheer lip stick.

I'm obsessed w/ makeup but I slowly grew out of that phase where I would wear eyeshadow on a regular basis. Eyeshadow was my thing from a very young age (13) and not tacky colors but a little subtle light shade was key for me and since I went to an all-girls private school, makeup wasn't even allowed so that rebellion was fun, lol.

Once I hit 16 I just grew out that and now it's that routine I mentioned up there.
