Ok so if you are having your makeup professionally done, hair styled duppata setting, jewelry and clothing fixed in place for you. How much do you think is a reasonable price to pay for that? I am trying to get an idea of the market.
Please reply either here or PM me I would really appreciate it
guys what is trial? is it like testing different makeup variations before you select one of them for the wedding day? The other day I was at MAC in Yorkdale Mall and 2 girls came for wedding trial. Wow the MAC girl did an excellent job in professional makeup. But I still don't know exactly what is the point of trials?
Who is the one charging 50 and 35? Could you give me contact information?
The point of makeup trials is to be able to see what style of makeup you would like to have for your wedding day. So you don't have any surprises the day of the wedding with say....purple lipstick instead of neutral lipstick or something.

It definitely depends on the Make-Up.....Quality of the make-up being used also how good the artist is ...$35-$50...sounds cheap....for that amount you know what to expect ? I know one make-up artist who charges $500-$3000...and you have to book in advance like 1 year ... or so and I dont think it's crazy $$ because it's worth it . Wedding day is a very important day in your life ...you wanna look best on that day. .. you want ppl to remember that day.. and the pictures afcourse ..you wanna look good in your pictures..(Memories) and in order to look good you need right make-up on. I personally wouldn't mind spending anywhere between $600 - $1200 for my bridal make-up...thats my thinking afterall everybody thinks different .....
Yeah I completely agree with you about that. I would be willing to pay a decent amount for bridal makeup as well. It is more than just about have colour on your face. These are the memories you are making of one of the most important days in your life.
I question how good someone is if they are charging so little. They may get a few clients based solely on price but either the artist isn't that great or she/he is selling themselves short. I think a fair price is very important for both the client and the artist.
I am a makeup artist and I want to make sure I am competitively priced with other artists in my area. I do how ever believe that my work is excellent (as told to me by my clients and their families) and my passion for what I do makes me want to always grow and be better.
I want my clients to feel like they can put themselves in my hands and feel comepletely at ease and confident that they are going to be radiant and glowing for their big day.
well i got party makeup done for my brother's mehndi...it was hair and makeup actually...cost me 120....i thought the party was makeup was really good..it wuld also look nice on dulhans....
but i think the usual range is 250-500 bucks....
I envy people who actually have time enough before the party to get things like makeup and hair done! I don;t think i'll ever get there :( my entire family was late for my own sisters wedding. We got to the hall after some of the guests had arrived :(
Uhmm my bros wedding, it cost bhabhi probably less than $100 for the valima for the hair.. makeup, we just bought some stuff from rite aid and my friend nadia did the makeup and hse looked absolutely gorgeous!! i wudnt say it was traditional bridal makeup but it really was beautiful, and anyway my SIL isn't into heavy heavy makeup at all..
I think ...
*Bidal Make-Up (ONLY)- $250 to $350
(Hairstyle Extra $$ Depending on the hair style)
*Party make-Up -$80 to $100
*Bidal Make-Up, Hair Dupatta setting and Jewellery etc $600 to $ 800 Should Spend 6hrs with the bride for touch ups

Humera
One thing I wanted to add is that this should also include full body and face waxing and facial. In Karachi, brides come a day before for waxing and facials which takes 3-4 hours. And then next day for the make-up, hairdos and dupatta setup takes 2-3 hours. The cost for these two days should not go over $1000 bucks. If I were to hire one, I would rather have all the above services given to me by that same person and place.
It's like a test run. The make up artist will do the make up how she will do it on the wedding. You can see if you like it or not and see what changes you want to make. I think trial make up costs $25-$50.
As for how much the actual wedding day costs ... it depends on how good you are. There are places out there that charge around $100, but the products they use aren't that great. If I ever get married, I would be willing to pay up to $400 but nothing more than that .... and that would include hair style, threading/waxing, facial, dupatta setting, jewellery setting and the make up artist coming to my house to do all of this.
Well I just wanted to add a note that, even though it would be nice to have threading/waxing done by the same person. You should take into consideration that it may not be in your best interest to have threading/waxing done the day of an event or only 1 day prior to an event.
In my case, being a professional Makeup artist means that, that is my focus. I have very high end products geared towards making the bride or any client (print work, fashion etc) look perfect for their day. Focussing on the other things like hair removal isn't feasible for me, imo.
Any aunty down the street can do your threading/waxing and at a nominal fee a few days prior to the day.
While I understand the convenience of going to the same person for everything. I don't think it should be expected. I am able to do Sari tying, dupatta and jewelry setting, touch up the eyebrow shaping and threading somewhat without doing the whole thing that day...you really don't want irrated skin. Otherwise doing all that and then applying a full face of makeup will result in a bride having pimples by the time her wedding night arrives :(
and basically making sure you look like perfection for your pictures :)
I want to help people make wonderful memories of their day.
