Suppose you’re visiting your inlaws wearing a designer lawn suit (for the first time in your life)…they ask you (including your FIL), “how much is this?” and because you’re fasting you can’t lie so you tell them the original price and after hearing the price your inlaws pass out. Then they show off their shopping skills boasting about their new 5 Indian blingy glitzy 90’s fashion suits they bought in that 1 lawn suit’s price.

What do you do in such situations? Do you carry on lying regardless of the roza?

I feel they wouldn’t be doing such inquiries if I was earning my own money.

I haven’t gone through all the replies, but you could ask them to guess, let them keep guessing for a while and change the subject. Or have the husband buy it for you and tell them he bought it so you don’t know the price.
