Because it depends on so many variables** eg.where will you both be living (which country, city, with inlaws or separate - yes, it does make a massive difference in terms of expenses), what sort of girl is she (is she into having professional beauty treatments or not bothered, will she be out shopping every week etc), will she be working + if so happy to pay for many of her own things herself? Also would you be sharing a joint bank account she can dip into so you don’t necessarily need to keep money aside or give her some sort of allowance..
These would be the typical minimum expenses for a month for a young couple where I live:
£1000-1800 a month rent or mortgage
£150-200 groceries
£200 petrol
£150 minimum other bills
On top of that there are those extra expenses for things like clothes, hair + beauty treatments, childcare, private nursery etc. which can drive the costs right up but then if you live with inlaws or she doesn’t drive or go out much those costs can also go down a lot..
