My husband didn't pay a cent either, back a decade ago there weren't any fees and the diplomas he's done are paid by the company he works for. He plans to move into business though, and so do I.

I did not pay a penny for edumacation. My abba jaan and then my elder brother did.
For IT skills I bought my first computer for 1100 dollars and a couple of books.

There were fees ... they were 100% subsidised by the government (for parents who were earning below the threshold) ... I still had to pay for books and all ... but my real problem with this thread is the false assumption that "good education = good salary"

i did NOT pay a single penny towards my education. i did NOT go to any school until i was 14 years of age. i went to grade 10 at a school run by Aligarh Muslim University in India where my brother was a professor and since i was his ward, my education was FREE until i completed my undergraduate degree. i then immigrated to Canada and received full scholarship to do master's and PhD degrees. so yes, i was lucky alHamdolillah to have received the valuable education at no charge. :)
