My husband didn't pay a cent either, back a decade ago there weren't any fees and the diplomas he's done are paid by the company he works for. He plans to move into business though, and so do I.

Re: how much did you spend to be able to make what you make(salary)

I did not pay a penny for edumacation. My abba jaan and then my elder brother did.
For IT skills I bought my first computer for 1100 dollars and a couple of books.

Re: how much did you spend to be able to make what you make(salary)

There were fees ... they were 100% subsidised by the government (for parents who were earning below the threshold) ... I still had to pay for books and all ... but my real problem with this thread is the false assumption that "good education = good salary"

That is a false belief !!!

Re: how much did you spend to be able to make what you make(salary)

i did NOT pay a single penny towards my education. i did NOT go to any school until i was 14 years of age. i went to grade 10 at a school run by Aligarh Muslim University in India where my brother was a professor and since i was his ward, my education was FREE until i completed my undergraduate degree. i then immigrated to Canada and received full scholarship to do master's and PhD degrees. so yes, i was lucky alHamdolillah to have received the valuable education at no charge. :)
