I carry 10 pound, 1000 rupees, 20 dollars and 50 euros.

I don't really make a conscious decision on how much cash I should carry. It usually ends up being anywhere from a couple of hundred to a thousand or so. Debit cards FTW!

Carrying cash in one's pocket (gaath) reminds me of our Panday Sir's poem in school

I hardly carry any cash, ev where I use my credit card. My reason is that it helps me keep a trail of my spending and I don’t over spend my budget each month, with cash it’s hard 2 keep a track esp if u don’t retain ur receipts like me . I remember earlier there use 2 b a functionality on BOA website where u can specify ur monthly spending budget 4 ev category like groceries, utility bills, gas etc. and when ever u were going over ur budget it wud sent u a txt alert that u hv just crossed ur limit. that was v helpful but since I moved to MX I hv to do a conscious effort 2 rmmbr my spending budget.

Also not carrying cash helps u limiting the impluse purchases esp when u see all these knock out Gucci bags, gyros, cute jewelery etc. on side walks as the street vendors don’t hv CC machines.
