Mybhisband used to get so irked... His argument was... It settles itself..how many goray dou know that do thos yet they have perfecrly round heads!

Oh and i also had that circular head pillow... Sold everywhere.

umm I still have no idea about 'shaping' the head though, first time I heard of it, unless the babies have positional plagiocephaly in which case you would have to alter their sleeping positions etc ??

What's maatha pressing?! Pressing the maatha so it becomes flat????? Does nobody realise this might affect the frontal/pre-frontal lobe of the brain?! :O

why does it matter if your child doesn't have a round head or not?
Don't you think its shallow for you to change it? How is it different from going under the knife even though its a minor change its still a change none the less right?

And how does it even become noticeable under all the hair…:hmmm:
I did nothing with mine and no one told me to do anything.She has Mashallah so much curly hair,it is hard to tell what kinda shape of head is under there…:hehe:.I think it is round.

my extended family in pakistan on my visit this time with my munchkin kept talking abt ‘sar bithana’ and matha bithana. MA my LO has a very nice round head BUT his forehead is very ‘uncha’ according to the family and they drove me nuts.

Do ppl have to press the foreheads to make them look the right shape ? :bummer:

OMG you all are killing me honestly!!!!!! I feel sorry for all the little ones :S flat head as in the back of your head is flat right?, so no one really cares about how unnecessary pressure might affect the brain?!

The head is flattened to the extent that it is noticeable even with all the hair … with curls it may not be so noticeable
To me it looks unnatural, head is supposed to be round.

i myself cant amke out bw round head n flat head.... n i didnt do anything intentinally due to some mishaps i was all alone wth my baby even huby was not wth me i was myself so tired tht i didnt hold her even for feed she remained lying all the time, but when i went to apk for first time she was 2 months n everyone was like ahhh u made her head so good i was like thnk u..... :D

Matha bithao uff my mom says that all the time i dont care whatever..as for doodh nikalo ceremony pls dont do that to ur kids when will ppl understand..it was done to me by my mom’s malish wali( curse her) and i end up having flat nipples damn:smack:

Haha well my aunt’s MIL arranged a ceremony when my cousin was being circumcised..they had their khandani ‘NAI’ who was called to do it cause he shapes well lol
As for pressing nipples of male babies then I duno if its done on male babies or not but its surely done on female babies..
read nucleo’s post she also mentioned ‘granddaughter’
So that girls have flatter chest so they can still look young when they grow up..weird i duno its something like that..and u do get flat nipples cause of this..
Aah wish mom was not in our village(sindh) when I was born..they do crazy things there sorry to say..
They even put oil in baby’s eyes, nose, ears and rectum:/

Oh one more..the mother puts her breastmilk on her baby’s head 10mins before baby’s bath so her hair can grow quickly:hehe:

^ Same here. This is really disturbing.

There should be no pressing anywhere, whatsoever. Special pillows and such are one thing. But applying force for some antiquated notion of beauty is really disgusting.

this is off topic but, have any of you been told to pinch your baby's nose frequently to make it pointier? my cousins baby has what they call a "flat" nose, and her khalas keep telling her to pick her daughters nose frequently, to make it more shapely. i think its stupid.
