Kosher is okay to eat in your household or not?
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
i dont..
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
I had kosher hot-dogs couple of times . All my other Muslim friends it is too .
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
No..im not gona support hte jews ![]()
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
Reha- depends on what and when.
when my parents are around, its only zabeeha
begum is okay with zabeeha, kosher, general grocery store meats etc but only eats hebrew national hotdogs because they are not made with spare parts.
I am not bothered in either scenario, so let the preferences of others take precedence.
except hotdogs, i dont like hebrew national so get my own.
I get kosher only to avoid pork stuff, so in things where I suspect pork can be present then I will go for kosher if i cant find halal.
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
No....but I know many people that do
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
interesting, never heard of people buying kosher, (desis), when halal is available...
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
NO WAY! Halal is halal. Kosher is not acceptable for me. If I can't find halal, i'll eat veges. But this is one thing I don't ever compromise on, it's not the way I was brought up.
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
no, only halal for me, alhamdulillah.
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
I don't really know any desis either that would buy kosher.... halal is halal.... if meat is not readily available, then there is always fish and veg.....
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
^ agree with 3 of you :D..i always consider Koshar as a non halal...
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
No Kosher for us. Strictly halal and if that is not available, there is fish and veg and aanday ka salan, and pakora curry and lintels. Allah has given us so many choices !
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
Halal always ... and if there is no choice , then vegies and lentils all the way ... I dont consider Kosher same as Halal ...
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
Good question.
What does the principle say?
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
^:D
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
wats KOSHER???

What is the best brand of hotdog out there? For future BBQs this summer, I need to know because I have recently discovered my love for chardogs. YUMMY.
I know lotssssssssssss of people who will eat Kosher hotdogs and its A-OK for them to do so.
The thing is, I believe halal and zabiha are two different things. Halal is what is okay for us to eat and zabiha is sacrificed only in the name of Allah swt.
That being said, Kosher is technically okay for us to eat.
Im just wondering how many of us actually eat kosher.
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
i dont mind
there are far more important things to worry about. like 5 prayers a day, the 1st question that will be asked.
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
Hmmmmmmmm...people buying and eating in the name of kosher or halal... :D
I would rather take the product first to a lab to find it out what exactly inside is... :D
My dear friends...when it comes to business...and businesses are to make money...the religious morals are sidelined... :D
PS: I have seen many muslim businesses in Europe...selling shawarma (50% pork and the rest is sheep or turkey)...pork and turkey are cheaper than sheep...
PS1: I have seen...my desi stores open the packing of chicken from the same factory the other non-desi super market also buy...do I see the name of Allah on my chicken...lol
PS2: The desi seller says...the chicken and other meats are halal...I got to believe him... :D
Re: How many of you eat Kosher?
^ You have a point there. However if we go with this point then we might as well stop eating outside, buy livestock and do qurbani at home. For majority of us, that is not possible. So, we have to rely on our butcher's word.
Now, to the Kosher issue. I would think larger corporations would make sure they were actually carrying Kosher meat so they dont run into lawsuits later on. Its more of a liability for them NOT to carry it, dont you think?
