Re: How many of us were or are virgin/chaste and plan to remain so untill marriage.
lussi - since he was asking for responses from men and women and you were so quick to go to the status of the women, I was wondering if that was misdirection. So, since you want to answer for all, what is your status?? Virgin or not? Fess up.
Re: How many of us were or are virgin/chaste and plan to remain so untill marriage.
Minah, see these type of guys, who hate ABCD girls and have double standards are either serious hypocrites who like to use girls and then have hte nerve to call them sluts OR they suffer from sour grapes because they are too insecure to talk to a strong, confident girl.
Guys can be vicious and girls have to be smart and stay away from them but its not fair that guys are allowed to run around and be pervy insecure pricks because it's okay for them. Damn.
Re: How many of us were or are virgin/chaste and plan to remain so untill marriage.
I wonder if virgin and chaste are being used interchangebly. I remember asking guppies (in some thread) about their definition of virgin and the replies clearly indicated that most guppies held different meanings for the word. Therefore, it sort of makes your question useless, as it is too broad and vague to answer.
In addition, like others mentioned it is a personal question and really doesn't require one to answer it on a personal level. However, the topic could be discussed generally.
Just because there is no need to confess who is/is not a virgin does not mean that one should hide it from their prospective spouse. I feel that this topic should (or could) be brought up before getting married, in order to clear any misconceptions or ill-feelings that may develop later on.
Re: How many of us were or are virgin/chaste and plan to remain so untill marriage.
lussi - u kinda missed my point here, you make disparaging remarks of others based on a cultural difference. Maybe you should really look at your own hang ups in this area rather than labeling others according to an opinion you have. Judgements of that kind against people you don't know are not religious points of views either, but rather a prejudice you have that is unfortunately culturally reinforced instead of a universal truth.
I am sure that not every "ABCD" falls under the rather broad and rather insulting ladel you pasted on them.
Hopefully, you see the light, also.
sara - :) unfortunately way too many of them here and yeah, I'm generalizing too
Re: How many of us were or are virgin/chaste and plan to remain so untill marriage.
Baji, you misunderstand. The only reason that individuals believe “ABCDs” to be more promiscuous and so forth - is that they are usually out the league of “FOBs” - and so, as a bitter parting message “hoe” is hurled in their direction to make them (the rejected) feel better. Whereas they know that the girls “back home” can very easily get the **** beaten out of them for such a crass assesment. So they are not hoes.
It’s a complex mind set.
Let me tell a story. There was a guy whod just emmigrated over from Pakistan. He was in my Bio class, he proceeded to throw romanic urdu notes in my direction. Assuming of course that life is like Bollywood and he my Romeo could be. He had not accounted for my halaaal -ing tongue. And “burri” larki (“bad” girl) I became. RIght before I went Paki on him and asked my “brother” to beat him.
When asked if he would have acted in such a manner with a paki girl. he said :-o never.
So you see, its raher funny really.
So far as virginity is concerned. We say it doesnt matter - but it does.
Re: How many of us were or are virgin/chaste and plan to remain so untill marriage.
LOL - I had to read it twice to get the full impact :D
Aasha - you go girl!!
Hiccup - hey, don't I know it, bad enough being an ABCD, try being Gori
We offered a man we had visiting our house from Pakistan a bed in the guest room for a week. After about four days living under our roof, this "man" who knows very little English crawls into the bed with me while my husband is in the bathroom taking a shower, I was dozing and popped awake when he touched my shoulder. Our bed is placed along a wall and I couldn't get out of the bed without crawling over him. He asked, I said no, he said I love you (WHAT the F**K, like I'm an idiot who will just drop my pants for that line) I said NO!! He said come on and smiled, I said get the f*ck out of my bed before I scream for my husband.
The idiot got out of the bed, leanded over, and hit me right near the shoulder while saying something in his own language. I was ripping, I just let loose. Right up to that point I was trying to deal with it calmly.
Chaos ensued when the husband comes out of the bathroom in a towel to find out why his wife is chasing a man who was a guest around the house with a frying pan, the man is let out of the house eventually (after a tense and heated argument with said husband) never to return. My husband could only say that some people just don't understand and that thinking like this and acting like this is why his people will never get anywhere in this world.
Re: How many of us were or are virgin/chaste and plan to remain so untill marriage.
^ …masturbation doesn’t make you lose your virginity…otherwise they’d be no virgins on GS
minah…whatever im saying is just my opnion…you can agree or disagree…but again what im saying is definately a total generalization..not every ABCD girl is like that…there are some very decent, allah-fearing girls out there…but chances are that if you’re an ABCD as compared to a girl back home - u’d be more “slutty”. I know this particular view of mine is going to be unpopular here - given the ABCD population - but WGAF.
PCG…hey ALL guys are horny..do u ever see me criticising ABCD guys? - no - cuz men are horny. It’s nature. Nothing we can do abt it.
