What significant changes, good and bad, have been made since the MMA government took over?
i do not think that there has been some developments, all they have done is to ban and destroy our traditional values.

if by traditional values you mean supporting foreign terrorists, I hope that the Pak army destroys all such traditional values for a better Pakistan.
Shponkhai, technically, FATA is not part of the NWFP. I do however agree that the government should abide by its words, as stated by the founder of this nation and let FATA administer themselves, rather than our army blowing holes over there. As for NWFP, its improved considerably, and has been improving since the time of the Sherpao PPP government till present. Look at Peshawar today, the city is in very good shape now, there might be a few law and order problems which pop up occasionally, but that can be seen in every city. As for the credit, it does not go to just Mr. Musharraf, it goes to people like Sherpao, Azam Hoti, Shabir, etc for the projects they undertook.

Sory bro i did not have that in my mind but now that you've reminded me of it i will also include that in it. OK as you wish but those traditions cant be destroyed even if thunders rain from the sky. ;)
Yeah i know its not, as far as i know is that its Tribally ruled area not under anyones rule. But there jhasnt been significant development, most of the city is in very bad position, there is heaps of unpaved roads and stuff like that. so alot is to be done.
Ahmadjee: I haven't been back home in awhile, but from what I have heard from friends is that not much has really changed. The MMA have gone for the realpolitik option of holding on to power and moderating their position. While they can't hide their own prejudices and don't provide any offical patronage to cultural events they have realised the effect of being excessive especially after that fiasco of tearing down the billboards.
As a government the Ministers performance is nothing to write home about..few of the MPA's have ever been elected before and they don't see to have the experience to control their ministries..economically the MMA has stuck to all fiscal agreements with the World bank and maintained a level of fiscal discipline..but in the end minus SIndh the Provincial governments are essentially powerless because they are almost entirely financially dependant on the federal government for funds because of Pakistans lopsided resource distribution.
^ + its the governor that actually rules. I do not think that we have democracy in which the elected members have the authority.

if by tradition you mean killing you women just because another man even looked at them, or marying your daughters to a 5 year old beacuse he is the only male left in the baradri, or for males to consider it a means of pride to go to brothels, then i am happy that those traditions were done away with
..its gone down the drain...

Explain traditional values and ban.
Actually I was more interested to know how did their education initiatives do?
Or if someone can give their one noticeable achievement that they can base their next campaign on?

So newspapers that carry editorials criticsing the government, that carry editorials criticising the Hudood Ordnance, etc etc... are somehow afraid to break the news that the MMA is stopping girls from goinfg to some schools? :-|
This is one link, Gulzar Alam migrated to Lahore after the attack:
