An educated women sitting at home is wasting her intelligence..HOWEVER its different for each woman and its THEIR decision and THEIR choice to decide if they deem it to be important enough

I think everyone has the right to choose if they wanna work or not. People have their own reasons and I am no one to judge. They can do watever they like and be happy.
As for me, I don't care if my wife works or not but if she is not working, it is because she chooses to not work instead of she can't find a job. This is beacuse in case, god forbid, anything happens to me I don't want my family to have no source of income.

every question should be measured on ONE standard. what is that standard for you? when ever I have a question dilemma or a choice to make i try to find answer in Islam. thats the standard and answer to every thing. islam allows woman to work but ** its better to stay home** if there is no difficulty!!

whats the point of studying for 16 years and then sitting at home infront of tv all day? if she have to sit at home at the end then why did she waste money on her education, parents could have saved more than 10,000pounds then.

Yes, working woman does not mean she should be working for earnings. Earnings is not an issue. Even a volunteer job or running her own business is awesome idea

Yep feed the needy. Take care of sick. Clean the Masjid , Mandir or Church. Plant some trees .

Other then that, Women need to know that she is capable of doing something and can walk with the world on a steady pace. Now a days every other women is working, so they have topics to talk about & They know what is going on the outside world, except their own marriage & kitchen. It doesnt have to be a 9-5 job, U can Volunteer or start ur own little business. or anything like that. It would just be a source to divert mind. Rest is ofcourse upto the person.

Agree. This is life , it takes its own twists and turns. If God forbid the man of the house cannot support the family then she can make sure that family does not go homeless.

If the husband is ok with the wife not working....then that's all that matters. Once again, this is one of situations where we don't know the couple's private values/goals or their reasons. So as long as the husband/wife is ok with the wife not working (for whatever reason), then I see nothing wrong with it.

if she cant find work then the pressure should not be on her to work. sure shes educated blah blah blah BUT what if she cant find work then what can she do. husband earns enough and if its just the two of them, surely there will be more money coming in then going out. of course it depends how fazool karch they both are.

money or not, its REALLY important for wife to work, not for money but for herself. If money is not a problem, she can volunteer.

She can take care of her home, children and husband. That IS work. Its much harder in my opinion than going to work, coming home and shutting off because a housewife's workday is never really over.
She can volunteer for a charity
She can start a home business
She can go back to school for a graduate degree and if she is done with that, she can take classes to learn a new skill
She can help out with her community masjid projects - they ALWAYS need an extra hand
The point is, she should have an activity, an outlet for creativity, a way for her to feel she is a productive member of society.
Its not necessary that a woman who is not on someone's payroll is not working.

You can do as yo ulike BUTTT IMO if a woman is educated she shoould use her education for something worthwhile. To me it is almost a crime esp if one has a professional degree and sits at home and do nothing. It is waste of time and energy that has been invested in getting the education so why waste.
If I were you I would keep trying to get a job, because honestly(but respectfully) 10K pound is not a lot of money. You guys can use the money to buy a house by saving some more, or save this for kids, put these in a retirement fund etc.

^ Absolutely agree with you. However, is "something worthwhile" only considered to be a 9 - 5 job? I think an educated woman makes a great role model, mother, teacher, etc. Education is not ONLY to be used as a means to make money. The purpose behind education is also to sharpen minds and cultivate society. Not just to earn a paycheck.
