Hey everybody so I used to be a little overweight, I was a UK size 12 and it was creeping up, i felt lethargic and not very good about myself so I decided something had to be done about it. I didnt go on any FAD diet or only eat a carrot a day, but I did a little bit of research and created some rules for myself and it worked ![]()
Rule 1- 40 mins of cardio a day-not a pleasant stroll something which gets ure heart racing and sweat dripping, I did JM shred + skipping or I went for a run or I went to the gym. Mix it up, its more fun that way.
Rule 2- If it doesnt have a mother or grow from the ground I cant eat it ( I avoided potatoes and rice though)
Rule 3- I would only allow myself 2 teaspoons of oil in my cooking a day
Rule 4- eat slowly, to ensure I did i ate everything with a tea spoon and every bite i put my spoon down and chewed 12 times, this sounds funny but no one noticed
Rule 5- Never take seconds
Rule 6- Eat in small plates
Rule 7- 8 glasses of water a day
and it worked ![]()
An example of what I ate :
Breakfast- 2 Eggs- best is to poach, sometimes scrambled or an omlette but it used up my oil allowance
or I would make a honey and walnut milkshake with semi skimmed milk
I used a glass full of semi skimmed milk, handful of walnuts and tea spoon of honey and a bunch of ice and put it all in a blender and i drank is slowwwlllyyyy and i stayed full for agess!
Lunch-salads of all kinds, if i was feeling hungry I filled myself up on cucumbers and peppers
Dinner- today I ate tandoori chicken- I dont use any oil in the marinade, i just spray my oven tray will oil- the marinade is from yoghurt, salt, pepper, chilli powder, garlic, garam masala and corriander power. I ate it will mixed grilled veges
I also make lots of grilled fish with dry rubs/seasoning and things like salmon have enough of their own natural oil so again you dont need to add any.
Snacks- cucumber, carrots, peppers, nuts
Soups are great too IMO as long as you dont add too much salt or oil ![]()
