How I lost 30lbs in 8 weeks - my tips

Hey everybody so I used to be a little overweight, I was a UK size 12 and it was creeping up, i felt lethargic and not very good about myself so I decided something had to be done about it. I didnt go on any FAD diet or only eat a carrot a day, but I did a little bit of research and created some rules for myself and it worked

Rule 1- 40 mins of cardio a day-not a pleasant stroll something which gets ure heart racing and sweat dripping, I did JM shred + skipping or I went for a run or I went to the gym. Mix it up, its more fun that way.

Rule 2- If it doesnt have a mother or grow from the ground I cant eat it ( I avoided potatoes and rice though)

Rule 3- I would only allow myself 2 teaspoons of oil in my cooking a day

Rule 4- eat slowly, to ensure I did i ate everything with a tea spoon and every bite i put my spoon down and chewed 12 times, this sounds funny but no one noticed

Rule 5- Never take seconds

Rule 6- Eat in small plates

Rule 7- 8 glasses of water a day

and it worked

An example of what I ate :

Breakfast- 2 Eggs- best is to poach, sometimes scrambled or an omlette but it used up my oil allowance :frowning: or I would make a honey and walnut milkshake with semi skimmed milk

I used a glass full of semi skimmed milk, handful of walnuts and tea spoon of honey and a bunch of ice and put it all in a blender and i drank is slowwwlllyyyy and i stayed full for agess!

Lunch-salads of all kinds, if i was feeling hungry I filled myself up on cucumbers and peppers

Dinner- today I ate tandoori chicken- I dont use any oil in the marinade, i just spray my oven tray will oil- the marinade is from yoghurt, salt, pepper, chilli powder, garlic, garam masala and corriander power. I ate it will mixed grilled veges

I also make lots of grilled fish with dry rubs/seasoning and things like salmon have enough of their own natural oil so again you dont need to add any.

Snacks- cucumber, carrots, peppers, nuts

Soups are great too IMO as long as you dont add too much salt or oil

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

OMG! This is totally doable!!!! I wish you'd done this earlier tho, it would have helped before the upcoming wedding! lol
but ill be tryng this starting now!!! I love the rule - If it doesnt have a mother or grow from the ground I cant eat it!!! Makes it so much easier to remember to put away the processed snacks! Thanks for sharing girl!

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

oh thanks for pointhing that out hareem!!! 30 LBS

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

Yeah it is really doable, how long till your wedding escapist.

I have just come back on this today after letting myself go a little as i was at my parents house for a week and ate loads of rice and roti (couldnt resist mums cooking) and thats when I thought i would put this up!

Yeah haha that rule works to remind you no processed crap!

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

lol yeah…thats imp :stuck_out_tongue: trying to have more and more fruits when hungry, filling and low in calories

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

it does work but consistency is important. I was once in Pak for some two months doing nothing and gained 10 kg, took me almost a month to loose it and all i did was 6 km on treadmill plus some light exercise, no lunch, green meals and soups (no bread and meat).

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

I have 15 days! eeek anddd ive lost 12 since april (very slow progress), but now that d-day is here i been stressing and slacking. Need to pick up cardio, ur right about doing it daily, makes a HUGE difference. Im saving ur post and keeping it handy! Thanks :)

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

i dont agree with skipping meals at all :(

meat is good for you, its protein.

But yes maintainance is the key, I have found i now eat more of what i want but i dont go overboard (apart from this past week where mum fed me countless amounts of chawal)

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

I would say Rule 1 2 and 8 deffo!

also drinking loads of water and eating laods of fresh fruit and vege and avoiding all the processed stuff, will also result and better hair, skin and more energy as well as with cardio some weight loss so you will be a winner all round!

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

thanks for the tips. i will be trying them out!

Re: How I lost 30 in 8 weeks- my tips

So you ate the mother and made the poor chicks and calves orphans. :bummer:

Ounces, that is why it worked. :@: Losing 30 kilograms in 8 weeks is not possible even if someone has constant diarrhea.
