How good does Pakistan have to get for you to move back?

Re: How good does Pakistan have to get for you to move back?

Almost all good posts.
First of all live where ever you will be happy. Other considerations in my opinion are;
1. Where your family is. I have lived in the USA for last 22 years. I came here when I was only 18. Everyone in my family now lives in Pakistan. I feel extremely lonely so I will be moving also.
2. If you want to have your kids learn the language and culture of the country you are from. It may not be very important for some people. For me it is.
3. Move if you have the financial means to maintain a life style you and your family are accustomed to. For example, if there is no light then should have generators to run your ACs.
My family followed these few rules and has been very happy in Karachi for last 12 years. We had agricultural lands in Sindh which we never sold. They were on contact all this time we were in USA. My brothers went back and are running our farms. They all are citizens of the US and come here every year for summer. Even one of my sisters in law is an American lady born in CA. She is very happy in Pakistan and does not want to move back. However, they have plans for their kids to finish college in Pakistan and go for Master’s in the States.
In the end, if you think you will be happy in Pakistan then move. Don't let, electric, gas, water, rishwat ,etc etc deter you. You can't fix all the problems of Pakistan or wait until they are fixed. Just go ahead and manage these problems if you can. If you are successful then great otherwise this "heaven" that is called the western world still be here. You can still get a mortgage at 20% down and a car for 10% down. Regular jobs are also readily available to start all over. At least you won't regret that you never tried.
Good luck!
