how early do u think a wedding should be planned, as we all know theres alot of work , n effort that goes into a wedding being gud n ppl get stressed out n wat not but is planning a year ahead to early, n how do u plan do u make lists, check out the types of lenghas u want

I think 6months to a year....
If u want to look around start looking for the lehnga's (Wedding dress) like whats in whats not.. so that u'll get to know the fashion etc..
Then u should order the dress atleast 6months before the wedding..And a month before you should b ready with all ur things(packed-up)...so you can relax,stay away from tensions and have a stress free mind :)

I'm getting married in November 09 and I thought I should wait a lil til I start planning lol...But If you're getting married early 2010 then it should be fine. I have a year left and I'm gonna start planning soon. I think 1 year should be more than enough to plan a wedding. However, the planning could be done in a time frame as short as 2 or 3 months. But to me 1 year is a perfect time frame. You can do things slowly and ur way instead of rushing.
Colourfuleyes these are some things that can go on a wedding checklist:
booking a hall
Shopping
Jewellery
Furniture
Photographer
Bridal make-up appointment
Can't think of anymore for now

Personally i think the earlier the better!I think it should be 6 months - 1 year before the wedding.

i havent started planning LOL i jus wana know like how long it takes bearing in mind i dont work well under pressure so......
okay so the first thing to do would be deciding a month and then the date... If deciding a date is too early right now as you said it will take place in 2010 then deciding a month will help. Once that's decided start planning or even better if you start preparing slowly.
I know but if shez got time, why not start early…
btw its not about money always

I had like an year gap after my engagement and i started collecting beddings (the ones who's fashion wouldnt change) ...material for dresses like raw silks...chiffons etc in white so tht i could get them coloured and saving money lol but now tht its in march 09 I have started getting things done and planning so its like 6-7 months before wedding...

^thats cool i was actaully asking friends in uni, and one of my friends who is one of three triplets said that they started a year and half before that was kinda weird, buh i think it depends on how much u gona do n wat u do

It's never too early to plan. What's the worst that could happen? It'd be too perfectly planned?!??!
Of course, things like clothes should be done in appropriate timing for fashion reasons, but other than that, plan plan plan!

Get beddings, some formal and semi-formal suits (whose fashion wouldnt change) but dont get them stitched... and above all jewellery, because gold prices are shooting really up, BUT dont plan to have your bridal set ordered before the lehnga (you need to have matching beads)

^^ you can always get clothes made to match your jewellery, thats what my friend's have done

That's true. Whatever inspires you. Sometimes I'll see a leaf that inspires me and I get an outfit around it! Hahaha.. :p
