How do you shampoo your hair?

I have to wash my hair everyday..1 because it gets oily… and 2 because I cant get in the shower and feel totally clean if my hair hasnt been touched. So whenever I tell people I have to wash my hair daily, they look at me like im from another planet… like oh my god, how do you do that? it takes sooooo long to shampoo hair! Errmm… no, not really… you massage into scalp, rinse out, and condition. Max 10 minutes. Or do people do something else in between that I’m missing?? :konfused:

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

lol no sabriya, it's pretty much the same routine you do.. you put in shampoo, massage a lil.. wash it out.. condition.. wash it out again..

next time someone says that, ask them what their shampoo routine consists of ;)

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

I think they are including the styling like straightening or blowdrying into the shampoo routine so when you mention shampoo their minds automatically include the styling tht comes after it and such things do take time

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

i'm like surprised tooo, i mean washin hair every single day. I can't do that cz then after washin it takes a lot of time to dry esp in winter.for me its like i have to take out special time to wash my hair... may b it depends on the length of ur hair, how long are they? lol, ur not missin anything or there's nothin special u do.

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

i used to wash my hair after 2 days - but it's horrible , washing hair every second day . yes then i started using the hairdryer - that helped me out , but my hair started falling , then i started using gel , i have been using different things , from time to time - yes that makes a difference , now i wash my hair at least after 3 days :)

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

My hair gets oily fast too, but i dont wash it every single day, supposedly that’s just not good for the hair…

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

hair will get oilier faster if you wash it everyday, sara/sabriya. its cos the shampoo is probably drying out your scalp and to compensate, its producing more oil. use a milder shampoo, maybe johnson's baby shampoo, if you're using washing it everyday and see if it makes a difference?

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

I’m having the same problem, i.e. hair getting oily everyday and I’ve no idea what the hell is causing that. It was never like that before. I don’t like to wash it everyday since it’s a pain to de-frizz afterwards, and i frankly don’t have time to style. I use to shampoo twice as well, but now since it gets oily so fast, i try and shampoo it only once since stripping your hair of it’s natural oil will only cause it to produce more.

also, i haven’t applied any oil to my hair in ages, perhaps that could be causing all this? i dont know if i should apply it now since it’s oily anyway?

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

Unless they use washing powder in between…:konfused:

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

im thinking you should… considering your scalp is probably dry and producing its own oil, so if you hydrate it, it’ll settle down again?

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

I read htat putting oil in the hair will fix the oily problem, let me find hte thread…
I noticed that if i blow-dry my hair, it stays fresher longer. but then the blow drying has really taken its toll, it always seems like my hair is in more terrible shape than it was the year before!

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

I have the same problem…it gets oily wayyy too quickly for my liking…so I wash it everyday…I have tried washing after two/three days during holiday periods:halo:but still it does not help…I sometimes use a dry shampoo refreshner thing…if I can’t be bothered to wash it everyday(rarely)…and that keeps ‘evaporates’ the oilness and makes it look non-greasy for another day or so…hmmm…maybe you want to try that.

Apparently a hairstylistf riend of mine said don’t massage the products for too long and to shampoo/rinse/shampoo/rinse…and make sure the conditioner is not cream based…

I think I must have a psychological problem when it comes to my hair because I don’t listen to anyone and still wash it everyday…:bummer:it drives everyone loopy andt hey think I am crazy:cb:for some reason…weirdos!

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

If u're going to wash u're hair everyday, switch to a milder shampoo such as baby shampoo. Shampoo regularly one day and take a pea-size amount dilute it with water and run thru u're hair the next day. You will get the "clean" feel without over-doing it.

Oiling is essential...olive oil is prolly the best!

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

Oily scalp is caused by hormones, so if your hair is getting oily every day then its probably the hormones.

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

Don't worry Sabriya, I wash my hair every day and I am not bothered by the horrified reaction I get from people who don't. I see a lot of girls walking around with greasy hair and they're happy cuz they think they're doing their hair a favour and keeping it healthy which is good for them but honestly.. what's the point when it looks unclean and rather repulsive. And seriously, unwashed greasy is NOT the same as slick straight hair.
anyhoo, I think if you eat a well balanced diet and use a good conditioner, you're not going to damage your hair with a daily wash...now if you're concerned about the effects of blow drying/straightening then you can do without that every other day or more.

Re: How do you shampoo your hair?

I dont have that problem anymore. Na rahay hain baal, na baj rahi haiy baansuri.
