How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

If you say that the majority of them are not good people, then unintentionally you might be implying either of the following two:

  1. Most of the times, bad people do/are made to do Hifaz of Quran.

  2. Most of the times people become bad after doing Hifaz. (of course you don't mean this one)

The only third situation that comes to my mind is that most of the times people tend to expect too much good from a hafiz-e-Quran and thus glare too much at their short comings than considering their good qualities. Just like a minor stain on a white cloth is more prominently visible, even from a distance, compared to any other cloth.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

^^ No no, it isn't that complicated. We people just like condemning anyone who has more religious qualities than us. You know the "I hate mullahs syndrome"...in fact talking about any religious achievements is usually not taken very positively in our community these days.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

yeah so if we talk aobut what weve experienced it becomes condmenation .. ok there .. spiteful much ? ..

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

FACT: Hafiz-E-Quran is no better than a normal person. So DO NOT marry a person just because they are a Hafiz-e-Quran. Look at education, character, beauty, job, etc. as that's more important.

Whoever is claiming that they'll never be able to be as good as a Hafiz-e-Quran is fooling themselves, you are most likely better. Just memorizing a book does not make a person better than you. Further, nothing in the Quran says that someone should memorize all verses and recite it.

I know a Hafiz-e-Quran but he drinks alcohol and parties at night but then also leads Taraweeh prayers. So look at other things too, not just "Hafiz".

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

Actually it is a great vitue to memorize the Quran.

I don't think any girl would accept a rishta of a guy who is just a Hafid but has no means of livelihood. I think the OP was asking whether a guy's being a hafid would be an added quality.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

First of all, a piece of advice. You do not have to justify your choice of no-religion in every thread by putting religion down.

Second, you lost your argument at your first sentence. Maybe being a Hafiz does not mean that you are better than a normal person, but beauty/education/job or even character is not an indication. One could have a good character but genrally a bad nature/short temepred person.

Third, referring to your statement

you should be the last person telling people to follow quran based on what quran says or not. If you were so observative and submissive about what quran says then you would not be posting such anti-religion posts to began with

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

This is just plain absurd - I dont think any one who knows about his ill acts would offer prayers at his back ..

People are actually very cautious when it comes to choosing their Imams !

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

I'd be flattered if I get a rishta from a Hafiz-Quran. I'd be marrying up.
It's sad to see people being so hesitant about choosing a partner more practicing than them. Being 'religious' has all these negative connotations associated with it now. He's sporting a beard and goes to the masjid, therefore he is most likely an oppressive Dou**. She wears a nikab, therefore she must be very boring and will discard all my valuable CDs (people do use lame excuses like that). Being religious doesn't mean you're necessarily a hypocrite and that's what the majority of people think now.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

Hi TLK, you misunderstood my points. Let me elaborate on what I mean below.

First, no that's not the point of this post. I'm just giving OP advice just like I give my Muslim friends advice. I'm not anti-religion either, and have a lot of religious friends whom I respect.

Second, I didn't lose my argument at first sentence. I said "Hafize-E-Quran is no better than a normal person" and that's true. Just because a person is Hafiz-e-Quran that alone does not make them better than anyone else, because they could still have bad habits, character, etc. which one should consider also. I gave an example in my post of a Hafiz-e-Quran I know who drinks alcohol and parties at night and also leads Taraweeh prayers. Of course one would assume all Hafiz-e-Quran are good, but it's not true, so I suggested to look at other criteria like education/job/etc. whatever matters to you so you don't regret it later.

Third this is not an anti-religion post. I was a practicing Muslim and I've studied the whole Quran thoroughly in multiple different translations so I know what's in there. My third statement is true. My local Imam even talked about that during a Khutbah and said that more important than memorizing the Quran is to understand the verses and the meanings behind it and apply it and that's the main point of my third statement. Of course there are Hafiz-e-Quran that memorize all Quran verses and also try to understand it, but the Hafize-Quran's that I know from experience just memorize without knowing the meaning and understanding of the verses that they recite.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

^Like it is said above, being a hafiz or hafiza is an additional good quality. That's all. Off course that is not the only quality one should look for in a person.

Re: How do you react to a ‘Hafiz-e-Quran’ RISHTA ?

I think that is the first time I’ve seen Diwana receive a like (other than from me of course) :hehe:

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

^Most of my fans are very shy!.......:D

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

whether we like them or not, they are the chosen ones. ALLAH SWT choose their hearts to save His Quran.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

No they certainly aren't the chosen ones, some of them behave like they are headed to heaven no matter what so their actions don't matter. In our culture a lot of parents put their kid in to hifz simply because then 'the kid and his family will go to jannah'. I even know a hafiz who's not really a hafiz anymore because by his own admission he has forgotten most of what he memorised, I certainly don't think he's the chosen one.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

Despite the pressure of parents a Muslims sister in UK refused to accept the rishta of a Hafiz who was a senior manager in one of London's top firms and a nephew of a well know Aalim, after she came to know that he has forgotten the Quran, and didn't made even a little effort to revise it during the Ramadan that just passed. Her comments were:

If he couldnt safegaurd the actual words of Allah, whereby nothing is more precious in comparison, how on earth would he be able to look after me, a mere slave of Allah.

Re: How do you react to a ‘Hafiz-e-Quran’ RISHTA ?

^ Well good for her!

Just because someone has memorized the Quran, doesnt make them a better person BUT it doesn’t make them a bad person either. Deeds, character, personality, they still matter.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

sex must be a totally spiritual experience with such a spouse.

no room for kinky stuff i guess......just kidding, the thought just came to mind

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

Actually in Islam there is a lot of room for kinky stuff (except the backdoor route of course). The problem would be if you were actually a good obeying Muslim you would have no knowledge of the kinky stuff in the first place.

Re: How do you react to a 'Hafiz-e-Quran' RISHTA ?

i know the stuff that is allowed in islam, it's pretty cool which ones are :D but looking at how noble a hafiza/hafiz is, how religious they are, they probably would look at sex in more of a spiritual/bringing children into the world type of way, i know it's generalization i'm making. looking at how most people from any religion that have devoted their lives to memorizing their holy book would be less likely to go for the kinky stuff even if it's allowed in their religion.

anyways, sorry i ruined the thread by bringing up the kinky stuff, continue folks
