First of all, a piece of advice. You do not have to justify your choice of no-religion in every thread by putting religion down.

Second, you lost your argument at your first sentence. Maybe being a Hafiz does not mean that you are better than a normal person, but beauty/education/job or even character is not an indication. One could have a good character but genrally a bad nature/short temepred person.

Third, referring to your statement

you should be the last person telling people to follow quran based on what quran says or not. If you were so observative and submissive about what quran says then you would not be posting such anti-religion posts to began with

Hi TLK, you misunderstood my points. Let me elaborate on what I mean below.

First, no that’s not the point of this post. I’m just giving OP advice just like I give my Muslim friends advice. I’m not anti-religion either, and have a lot of religious friends whom I respect.

Second, I didn’t lose my argument at first sentence. I said “Hafize-E-Quran is no better than a normal person” and that’s true. Just because a person is Hafiz-e-Quran that alone does not make them better than anyone else, because they could still have bad habits, character, etc. which one should consider also. I gave an example in my post of a Hafiz-e-Quran I know who drinks alcohol and parties at night and also leads Taraweeh prayers. Of course one would assume all Hafiz-e-Quran are good, but it’s not true, so I suggested to look at other criteria like education/job/etc. whatever matters to you so you don’t regret it later.

Third this is not an anti-religion post. I was a practicing Muslim and I’ve studied the whole Quran thoroughly in multiple different translations so I know what’s in there. My third statement is true. My local Imam even talked about that during a Khutbah and said that more important than memorizing the Quran is to understand the verses and the meanings behind it and apply it and that’s the main point of my third statement. Of course there are Hafiz-e-Quran that memorize all Quran verses and also try to understand it, but the Hafize-Quran’s that I know from experience just memorize without knowing the meaning and understanding of the verses that they recite.
