follow this few steps you will know it
- Hit yourself against a wall,
- cut yourself with kniefs
- jump from a building or high altitude
- burn any of your body part
- and try this option too if you have a gun
e.t.c.,
there are many, but at intial stage start with anyone of the above step, if you hurt then you exist, other wise NO,

It doesn't matter if you know that you exist or not, the fact that we believe that we exist is enough for us to move forward.
It sort of works in a round about logic. If something does not exist we wouldn't know about it, because we know about the fact that we may or may not exist then it means we do exist, because or else we would not be able to entertain that thought process.
You ask: how you know that YOU exist? Well if you can answer what the YOU is that you are referring to then you have already assumed that the recipient of your message understands the identity of self in order to answer the initial question. The initial assumption in every case is the hypothesis put forward which in lay mean terms is the belief that we exist therefore .... or simply you have assumed that we exist by asking us the question. If you have assumed it and we have not objected to it then it doesn't matter if we know that we exist or not, rather it is highly convenient that we believe that we do know that we exist.

self is to be protected from harm and disgrace, and the strength of the self is evident in how well adjusted the self is with the environment and influences it with the self's presence - gifted with life.
therefore, it must be treated with kindness, first and foremost without taking advantage of other lives around.
existence of a self is felt and expressed through all the good work which the self does in life, including treating others with fairness and building an intergral self- image that is healthy, beneficial and content within.

Because if I did not exist, I would not be doubting my existence. So unless you can prove that it's not me who is doubting his existence, or that someone can doubt his existence without having an existence, I exist.

Well, my mind is a projector of dreams through my senses, my body is mostly wet and I notice the bloodflooding through my veins, I can adjust the beat of my heart using Biofeedback, my spirit is large, has a smoky indigo eye that I see on my closed eyelids, my own picture show that is a more rational projection of self, showing me wisdom, bliss, utter awakeness. I have a soul that has grown from out of me, left me and was lost then returned. I feel the mountains dancing in my magnetic blood, I am a conduit of energy... I notice other souls. Beneath all the labels that have been given to me, including my name and alias names, there is ~me~ and I have made a difference, if only to myself..
I exist because I cannot prove that I do not. The evidence is high that I am here.

If all my senses (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell) were taken away from me and then someone fried my brain, how would i know i exist?

Haha, with our brains fried, we'd cease to exist anyway. But that raises an important question. Do the people in continuing vegetative state exist? If lack of brain activity means no thoughts, then perhaps we can call them brain dead - non-existent. 'I think, therefore I am'.
Do the people in permanent vegetative state think?

Haha, with our brains fried, we'd cease to exist anyway. But that raises an important question. Do the people in continuing vegetative state exist? If lack of brain activity means no thoughts, then perhaps we can call them brain dead - non-existent. 'I think, therefore I am'.

I would rephrase the "I think, therefore I am" phrase as this is the archaic standpoint. Recently, people have argued for, "I am, therefore I think" because the statement "I am" is inherent proof that thinking is taking place. Also, the chair is not known for it's thinking capability, but it exists in that as much as our bodies exist.
Whether we exist or not is a different question to knowing whether we exist or not. To know something is the think it against indisputable testable evidence. For something to simply exist we need not be aware of it.
Us humans can work with our environment without having to fathom what we interact with. That fact that we are informed to believe becomes convenient and suitable at first and then after study it becomes clearer and more definite that what have been told to believe in, is in fact correct.
So the answer in a short emphatic way to the original question ... How do we know .... that we exist.
Through research, pondering and reflexion and being truthful and seeking of guidance. Only then can we possibly know anything.

cuz i m asking a question myself “y i exist to find out how do i know i exist ?”
but if i dont exist i would have never ask this question y i exist. but since i exist so i have no choice left to ask my self y i exist, which is pretty self explanatory because i know i exist because i am not only asking this question to my self but also making other to find whether they exist or u dont exist. so in the end we left wid a mere calculation that we both exist to find out both of us do exist or not, as u left to ask this question, n i left to asnwer this question n other lefts to read both of us Kitsch. so conclusion is u exist since u believe u exist (dat is y u typed in this question), i exist cuz i responded u n other exist cuz they read both of us
