Girls,
how long did it take you to decide on the colors for your wedding outfits?
any color suggestions?
i will have a december wedding,so should i stick to darker colors?

Hello Shaz, being a bridalwear designer I have had clients from all over pick their own choice of colors. Since it is YOUR day you have every right to decide what you want to wear. For example, I had a client of mine wear pink on her milad, orange anarkali with full sleeves on her mayun, a bright red heavy bridal lehnga on her mehndi, a beautiful gold flowing lehnga on her shaadi and a blue gharara on her valima. Mind you, these days wearing a heavy red formal on your mehndi is very in, I even had one guppie somehowcollide wear a red gharara of mine on her mehndi aswell. It was deep red and she looked absolutely breathtaking. And regardless of summer or winter, go with the colors of your dreams. InshAllah you will look super stunning :)

Hey shaz congrats!!

I'm also getting married in december, inshaAllah. Both my mom and mil want me to wear red and even though I don't like red but I'm going with red on my wedding day. I might go with blue, biscuit color combo or gold and violet/purple not sure yet, pink and gold looks nice too.

i know a lot of girls chose baby pink with white or cream or baby blue, sea greens but i don't see light purple a lot so that may be nice, i also really like the combo of tan/goldish fabric with silver work. but that's me i like really odd stuff and i'm not fair so that's why i wouldn't go for peach or baby pinks.

i think peach and emerald green would be a lovely combo.

kinda like this but with a slightly deeper emerald green.

Purple and gray sounds nice. I'm going with white or baby pink/peach for my nikah, inshaAllah.

I've seen lots of white and green combos (some look amazing) but I will never go with this combo for my wedding... don't wanna look like our flag:P

But go with whatever you like it's your Big Day:)

I've been going backwards and forwards between cream/gold or baby pink, both Maria B designs. Cream/gold was the original choice. My Mum (and rest of family) doesn't want me to wear red cos I'm blonde and a bright red lehenga might 'overpower' me.

It took me ages but I did what I wanted. I got a really really light...almost pale green...and maroon. For my mehndi I decided to wear pink and orange...not green. For the mayun...Im still debating what I want to wear...maybe a dull gold or I just might give in and wear yellow...lol.

How do you decide????

Looking at all these threads opened, asking for color ideas, designs, etc.. how does a bride-to-be decide what she wants? Mybe i never felt it before b/c i'm over and done with my weddign so none of that stress...but I was thinking abt it again today, and just how freakin hard it would be to decide what you want to wear. Sadly some girls don't even get a choice, but for the ones who do get a choice..HOW do you decide? Lengha (a-line, fishtail or mermaid? short sleeve or long sleeve? v-neck, round neck?)? sharara? gharara? churidar? anarkali? saree?? Do you wear traditional red, a classy beige/white, or funky pink? etc etc.

Although i've followed most of the brides' stories here, i still wnt to hear from anyone/everyone.. what made you decide that THIS would be your dress? Did you have preconceived notions of what you wanted? or did you go shopping with a clear/empty mind? or did u ditch all your plans at the last second for something totaly different?

Just deciding what to wear, seems like a harder task than finding a dude! ;)

when i saw the dress for the first time, i absolutely fell in love with it. didnt feel like that about any other dress and knew that would be THE ONE. :wub:

still feel like that everytime i see it.

^ same here! i saw a picture, loved it, and then went about modifying it to fit my colors and my requirements. i knew what kind of kaam i wanted and in what colours. my other starting point was my mom's gulubund choker that i wanted to wear- i have always wanted to wear that since i was a little girl so it just sort of came together perfectly. yay! :)

I am having the most difficult time deciding what to wear on my wedding! I am so overwhelmed! I can't pick a color or the style! I want to wear something champagne/beige then I think maybe I should go traditional and wear a red gharara and then I start thinking of deep purple! i am going crazy! :( And to make it worse, I am not even making a trip to the motherland so I am limited about my options!

Depends where u stay, if u stay in the U.K there is actually a huge variety

No I am in Toronto. My fiance is in NY so maybe I can check out this store called "The Designers Den" in Pennsylvania. It's only an hour away from NYC. I am really really confused!

I m on the same boat as u AugustSS and CB..i knw i want red and a little bit abt what i dont want as far as the kaam goes... other thn that i m clueless.
another big problem is that i can't just pick frm a website or a meg. cuz most of those are super $$$$$$ and well i have a budget :(...and cant trust anybody in pakistan to get my bridal...
what to do...what to do...
