don't think you can control a man or a woman because a human being no matter what will always rebel against any kind of "control".
you can please a man so he'll want to do what you want him to do. if it's your husband then preferably in all the rooms of the house :D :p
seriously though, talk to him logically so he'll clearly understand and see why you want to do something or you want him to do something. try active listening, it's a way of listening and responding to another person that improves mutual understanding

If I dont take charge...I will lose him. I feel like in order to keep him...I have to have some sort of control.

Guys can be controlled by love, uncoditional love and service. Make nehari, qorma, parathay for him, press his legs, iron his clothes, put oil on his head .. you will be surprised by the control you gonna get over him
