From reading the posts in this section, I understand Bollywood movies, whose popularity is actually the indicator of backwardness of any society are quite popular in Pakistan.
My question is this. Since any thing Indian is unpatriotic in Pakistan, how do you guys know the arrival of the latest nonsense from Bollywood?

I didn’t mean Zee TV channels. I know you guys watch them in secret. Just goes to show that if you want to make even the lousiest thing more attractive you just have to make it scarce or illegal
What I meant was,
Take a small Pakistani town with a dozen theatres. A hot new potboiler with enough shouts of ‘Naheeeeen!!’ is released across the border.
How does our devout Pakistani filmgoer come to know about it ?
Do they advertise in local news papers, show interviews with the Stars in PTV. What?

ZEE TV is pretty much it. Indian movies cannot be legally played in theatres in Pakistan.
By the way I dont understand what you are trying to say over here?! What can be more accessible to public than Zee TV. Its on 2 satellites and is viewed in almost every home in Pakistan.

Not the same thing. As far as I am aware there is no special censorship for Pak. movies or dramas in India. There is no religious censorship. Even the censorship they have now is quite silly.
More importantly we don't whine about the evil influence of Pak Movies or Dramas in India!!

Well, I as an Indian don’t mind anybody watching Pakistani Dramas. I heard they are darned good.
In all my years I never heard of any noise or bakwas made about Pak Movies or Dramas watched.
The only exception I remeber was the concern about Pak propaganda in Kashmir and ways to block it. That is a national security matter as far as I am concerned.
Otherwise Pak dramas are welcome. Movies, I don’t know. From what I read they are not welcome in Pakistan itself
What do you mean Sehar. I replied that except for Pakistani Propaganda which is correctly blocked in the interests of National Security, there are no restrictions in India.
Or do you mean Lagaan and Hum Aap Se Hain Koun affect Pakistan National Security?
The problem is that the Pakistani film industry is really weak, and has been for the past 20-30 years. Its left a vacuum on the entertainment plate of the average pakistani. And you really can't expect the paki public to only watch paki dramas and music videos - every society needs to be able to watch movies, it seems. Since pakistanis don't really have the option of watching pakistani movies, Indian movies are watched. I think the paki public watches indian movies more than american movies, mainly because a lot of people don't understand english or they just relate better to indian movies since its closer to their culture. I'm sure that if Paki movies were of the same quality level as indian movies, you would see a great deal (maybe not all) preferring Paki movies over Indian ones. I don't know - that's just a tentative hypothesis...
Andhra if you're so disturbed by Pakistanis who are hypocrites by way of watching Indian movies, I suggest you ask each and every Pakistani on this forum before replying to their posts.
That will make you at ease that you're only talking to Pakistanis who don't watch Indian movies. Whatever that will accomplish for you and India is a mystery to me.
