The first thing I do after baggage clearance is getting a local sim and checking my emails/fb and then call home. Local news? Not really but yeah I do check news from back home and bloomberg/wsj (which is sort of daily routine whereever I am)

Pretty much ignoring everything listed except calling home and talking to family briefly. I usually just get a calling card and make calls from the hotel.

Usually I tell my family before going on mini vacation, but if I am on vacation no one disturbs me. Only no. 4 in case of emergency.

DO all - number 3 with international roaming , so no need to go local .

Usually take local sim and get connect with local friends. Newspaper/TV(unfortunately, this facility is not quick as it supposed be due load shedding).

i keep my fone in Canada and the US...as soon as i arrive in India, i turn on my local fone that i already have. and in the rest of the world i use calling cards. i also keep in touch thru testing, FBing, emails, msn messenger...in a nut-shell, i'm well connected when i am on the go! :)
