Iconoclast, what kind of question is that? Don’t you know that everyone on here is quite angelic and perfect? Everyone around them is equally angelic. No one knows a single person who had premarital sex. Premarital sex is something only those terribly immoral Indians and dirty westerners engage in. :halo:
That rather sums up what loads of people were implying on the dating thread. A couple of posters on that thread were practically tarred and feathered for simply suggesting that dating may be becoming more common among Pakistanis.

Dating encompasses lot of things so lets leave it that aside. Becoming more common is relative. An increase from 3% to 6% is a large increase relatively but still small number absolutely.
The time i have spent in Pakistan, my guess is probably <10%, and if you really stretch it max 30%. Even among boys, who will tend to brag about their sexual exploitations, i did not find more than a handful who engaged in fornication among hundreds that i knew. However, this is my observation and others may have experienced different things.

^No, I'm not implying that people are lying about their own personal experiences. Everyone knows what their own personal experiences are. I don't doubt that people are being truthful in that regard.
However, I do think that people are being a bit naive to think that simply because they didn't/don't engage in premarital sex, no one else does. I also found it quite absurd that people were asserting, as if it were fact, that no one they know had premarital sex or that "most" people don't have premarital sex because, realistically speaking, how would they know that for a fact? It's one thing to speculate, it's quite another to speak as if something is fact when you don't have any evidence (other than your own opinion) demonstrating that it is.

I dont think anyone is lying on the previous thread, but they are naiive or unaware of reality. i cannot pinpoint to a % of fornication in pakistan because that would imply that i am assuming too much. out of the people i know who lost their virginity would never in a million years tell anyone other than maybe their doctor or someone they are close to who thinks premarital sex is 100% okay. anyone with a negative attitude towards these things will probably never hear anyone admit to them about sexual experiences. out of the people i know who have had sex, alot of them were with their boyfriends or fiancees, not one night stands. most of them justified it by saying they were gonna marry them anyway. NONE Of their family members had any idea about it, so isn't it possible that the 100's of guys you knew, some of them had fornicated but just never told you? and of course its also a possibility that they never did any of that either. but one cannot come up with a % merely based on what people dont tell us.

I would guess it's around this figure for the ppl I know here as well.. I've had a couple of cousins in Karachi and Dhaka admit they're sleeping with their bfs so it's definitely happening under the radar over there as well, if not very commonly.. My dad has told me in the past about being approached by parents of unmarried girls wanting abortions yearsss ago.. In the villages of course the girl and guy would be quickly married off if possible.. Adoption or abortion usually happen when this isn't possible..

Pretty much same. The friends I have in Pakistan would be 50-50 but there is exaggerating too about who’s more of a ‘‘bachi master’’ than the other so can’t really say that much conclusively. As for desi friends here out of Pak I only had one good one who I knew had gf’s during the time we were at Uni. 
The friends I have now aren’t Pakistani and only brag about their prowess so I have my doubts.

Openly, there's only one person I know who slept with her bf and this was back in college days.

Well it's still not common as it's in the West but sure the number increased drastically. Well in my circle nobody ever did.
