Sadya, responding to your original query re:unity. Human being will only unite when there is an external force/power threatening this world i.e. aliens. Just like Pakistanis will unite and ignore their differences when a war is looming against India, just like Americans united in war against Afghanistan etc. Any "nation", "population" will unite ONLY when there is a "third party" threat to their existence..... until then dream on ;)
They are scholars or defenders of Islam, every time they have one excuse that is context. There is one verse talking of some so-called equality, they forget the context, and for opposite, for thousands of violent verses they run for contexts.
No, Mr Sadya, studying Islam is not wastage of time. Quran has helped me to understand the psychology of true Muslims, violence and terrorism.

Yahudi, sir, those 'thousands of violent verses' refer to the pagan Arabs, the Hypocrites, teh Jews who were actively trying to destroy Islam. You know exactly what you're saying isn't true, if you would have carefuly studied Quran, to objectively find out what it says, you would have understood Islam is a beautiful religion o fpiece, you would have found that those verses apply to certain situations, to certain people. Nowhere does it say to just kill people because they don't believe in God. It is now certainly clear that you are only deliberately trying to disgrace Islam, in which you are failing by the way.
People like you never succeed, you get some attention, but in the end everyone sees you're phony, making no sense at all and only out to deliberately put down others. In the end it is you yourself put down by God Himself!
I have a Catholic friend, who has been reading the Quran for years. She is a good person, goes to Church on Sundays too. And she found Quran to be inspirational as well. She didn't find violence and terrorism in it, like you. She has been reading it since she was 14, and now she'sin her sixties.
