so this thread is turning into just passing judgements on the guy. What I am looking for is suggestions on how to help this poor guy. On a sidenote, I find it hypocritical how you some folks are concerned -and righlty so- with the girls feelings but then make fun of her weight by saying she should sit on the guy.

Only suggestions I see are that guy should drink (which I dont think he will since he's religous). And she should declare himself gay, which I dont think is very practical.

I also gave couple of serious suggestions but they are not long term solutions..

The reason why people are passing judgment is because of the way you explained the situation which makes it very obvious what the guy's real intentions are ..

You could've easily said,

my friend is in love with a very obese lady and is marrying her soon but because of her size, feeling very intimidated about consummating the marriage on the first night. He wants to help her reduce her weight first and then wants to move on to having physical relationship.
