How can i NOT look Pindu???

Please help me out!! I feel like I look pindu compared to other pakistani women. I’m 25 but feel like I look like my mum already. I’m an Australian-born Pakistani, wear shalwar-kameez no western clothing. I think I’m too simple. I live in a hot climate (similar to Karachi but much hotter) and can’t wear good clothes, or make-up all the time. Although I just been to Pak and all my lawn suits are Gul Ahmed or Al-Karam. All my shopping I did in Liberty ( bareeze, aleeze, saleem fabrics). I only wear 2 diamond rings all the time, no earrings, necklace or any other jewellery. I get my hair cut, it’s long and layered,

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong to look like a Pindu all the time. Any tips??

P.S. I do not wear sneakers with shalwar-kameez!

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

sorry i dont know

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

From what you just explained, you don't sound pindu to me.

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

define paindoo??

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

it's more about how you carry yourself... have some confidence...

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

What do you think makes you look paindu? Your clothes are not stitched stylish enough although expensive?

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

Nothing wrong with looking like a Pindu :P depending on where in Aussie you are I guess.

Its just different :)

Yes, that is a problem too. I don't know any stylish tailors in Pak, i get them done from a family friend in a smaller city.

How would you ladies define non-pindu?? Do you need to have a hair straightener to not look pindu??

hey dun get so upset..there are so many boutiques in Lahore , u can buy clothes from there...they have very up to date stuff..

You don't sound too paindu to me! But mabey it is because you wear shalwaar kameez all the time and you live in Australia? In Pakistan, this would be no big deal but mabey this makes you unconsciously feel paindoo since it is not the norm in the "west" ? I'm not saying change your look completely and dump the shalwaar kameezes ... if that is what you feel comfortable wearing then continue wearing them! But mabey instead of shalwaars, have trouser pants sewn? Or you can start wearing jeans with some gorgeous kurta tops and dupatta around your neck???

My mom actually started feeling this way for some weird reason a few years back ...she wore shalwaar kameez all the time no matter what. But now only wears it around the house or going to some ones house or a function. She switched to wearing western clothing more commonly but these clothes were still extremely modest. Tunic shirts with jeans... dupattas always around the neck, loose trousers with a longer shirt, etc.

Little things like matching accessories (shoes and handbag) make a big difference in an outfit too. :)

Invest in a a stylish pair of sunglasses! Don't even need to wear eyemakeup when you go out.. just throw those on and you will feel like a million bucks.

You can straighten your hair if you want to go for the sleek straight hair look but you can also throw some product into your hair and leave it naturally wavy/curly! The product will just control the frizziness and puffiness and enhance the natural beauty of your hair.

Hope these tips help! :)

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

Hmm thanks PR... your tips made sense - like the sunglasses idea, i wear prescription glasses so never really got around to making prescription sunnies.

Thanks for your input everyone. I will make use of these ideas and let you know how I go.
We have a 23rd March (Pak day function) coming up in our community, so i'll try some of these tips and see how i go.

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

All you have to do is pick out styles that you like (there are tons of websites where you can look) and send pics to the person whose making your clothes so they can stitch them accordingly. Another important factor is having correct measurements. Have a friend help you with those if you don't know what exactly to look for or how to get them correctly.

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

show some skin. whooo!

Its easy, don't look into mirror

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

no reason for personal attacks

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

I'm wondering where you came to the conclusion that you look paindu. Did someone say that to you?

And hairstyle and the cut of the clothing are key! Try visiting some groups on FB that have fashion pictures so you get the idea of the latest trends. And shalwar kameez is great! Just tweak it according to the trendy cuts. So get rid of the shalwar and get straight trousers or pair it w/ cotton pants, etc.

Also, try getting contact lenses or at least make sure your glasses frame is updated and relevant. I love those sleek black ones w/ slightly thick black frames.

Btw, I run a group on Facebook called "Desi's with a passion for fashion" and we added the new pictures from fashion week and the new cuts and colors are amazing!

^ Example of thickness personified

Wear colors that flatter your complexion, clothes and cuts that drape your body well and look nice.

Get a different hairstyle/cut that's easy to maintain and looks great, perhaps some highlights and lowlights too?

Select a feature that you like and play it up be it your eyes, bronzer or lips doesn't matter.

Accessorize! Don't over-do it.. wear small studs if you're wearing a loose, long necklace... bangles, rings.

Keep yourself groomed..

Re: How can i NOT look Pindu???

If i was in Karachi or was able to wear shalwar kameez i would have loved it because i think any girl looks better in a shalwar kameez then in jeans...i have really great designs/ideas but i can't wear any because i can't get them stitched and here aunties stitching is not as good as the uncles back home - you don't sound paindu to me either, but if you feel that way then in shalwar kameez only you can look very stylish, get your clothes fitted if they are lose, wear sleeveless if you can and if not then get your sleeves styled up go for quarter sleeves, mega sleeves or churidaar ones in full length, of the ones that have slits in the middle there are so many styles - get your galas styled up, boat necks...this neck that neck, go for capris, or straight pants with long/medium length shirts, or bell bottoms...there are so many ways that you can play with to look awesome in shalwar kameez as well babes - stop wearing huge dupatta's get them medium sized that way they look good, let your hair down if you tie them...you'll look absolutely amazing trust me.

alrighty so heres the problem..well u need to exercise to become slim and radiant faced like a young woman..

slender down and drink water nd u be pretty nd glowing nd feminine in no time..

cause if u eat too much or bad u will have a face like an over-cooked cake nd will look bari bari for ur age nd unattractive..

slim down then wear fitted clothes and big necklines too show that ur a woman that can attract..nd then ur pheromes will go faaar..
