How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Anything like this from Pakistan?

Hopefully there is.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

The hindu majority in India tolerated that an Indian hindu girl got married to a muslim pakistani guy. I fail to see how you can not see that this shows the tolerance level of the indians, when its such a huge cultural and religious barrier to break.

Yes, we are talking about BREAKING religious barriers, so one human being's love for another human being can prevail over such barriers. Translates into tolerance it does.

Of course I would like to see the opposite occur in Pakistani movies too. Both indian and pakistani societies are in dire need of tolerance.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

^ exactly! Very good post! Tolerance/ patience is hardest thing or quality you can possess. I dont understand why somebody has so much ghubaar for people they have never met. India is full of nice people and they practice Hinduism becos its just how it is, stop seeing other people as evil just because they are different. How is this any different from being racist? Discriminating in terms of religion, you dont have to marry into them or whatever but have some decency and be human. Prophet Muhammad was alone when he was taught about the oneness of God and he championed that region now everyone is muslim in mekkah, people need to have patience for non-muslims just like ya sayidi (pbuh) did. You cant justify bad behaviour just because you read kalma.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

How does a pot boiler masala film being highest grosser mean the idea of hindu muslim marriage was acceptable to them? Faulty argument.

No, I did not miss the point and Yes we do expose fake mullahs and peers all the time on our tv. That was the main PLOT of PK . Pakistan has made Khuda ke lie and Bol which were far more scathing, critical , controversial and direct. India has never made anything close to that.

Your response does tell us about the taboos and bigoted stereotypes that you’ve created in your head about Pakistanis and “religion”. You’re assuming that Religion is a barrier and that religion is different from humanity. Both the assumptions show your bias. May be right for you but not for others. Infact declaring religion as a barrier contradicts what you profess about "tolerance"

Off topic comment. By that logic, I can drag babri masjid , modi here and it would go on and on. If you’ve no argument left on topic then no point posting.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Duh! Borrow some grey cells. Their crazies are in power and in government.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

^ and mullahs have no power in Pakistan? We have problems of taliban who have wrecked our country and now rest of muslim countries are going thru same thing. If bjp wasnt in power you wouldnt have shown hatred towards India say wallahi?? Sorry but you are embarrassing Pakistan with ur hateful comments!

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Funny how this Balthier is professing tolerance by showing zero tolerance to those who merely choose to follow their religion!
Seems as per his definition of tolerance if someone refuses to marry outside his faith he must be an intolerant bigot! And that he assumes while preaching on humanity and tolerance! lol](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=LOL)

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Are talibans and mullahs in power? Is Nawaz sharif a taliban or mullah?

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Allah hi aapko samjhe :) i dont know why you think I hate my country because I am promoting love for our non-muslim neighbours? Narrow mindedness dear, shed it inshallahhhh

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Because the movie portrayed an Indian hindu girl getting married to a Pakistani muslim guy, and the movie was accepted, critically and commercially, in India? Beside PK was not a pot boiler masala out and out, but that is beside the point in any case.

No, it was not. PK went deeper than that, unfortunately don't see anyone in Pakistan having the courage to make the same points, as unabashed as PK. Bol and Khuda ke liye do not share the same core theme as PK, they explore different subjects, although they might have a few points in common. Also, India has made movies which explore the same subjects as Bol and Khuda ke liye, you need to look farther than Bollywood. I liked Bol, but it was bit lengthy though.

Religion in itself is not a barrier, but there are certain elements within religion which are holding both Pakistani and Indian societies back. No need in denying that. Of course those barriers need to be broken, so those societies can progress. That goes without saying. One of them are the right for muslim women to marry whoever they want, hindus, atheists, christians, agnostics, muslims.

Some Islamic scholars want to revise and reinterpret Islamic family laws, so they can better suit those laws to the 21st century, because they feel that the current interpretation is misogynistic. How is that related to babri masjid? You yourself said its forbidden in Islam, so I replied that there are Islamic scholars, who are working on changing that. How was my argument off topic, when you yourself brought up the subject?

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

lillyy2k2 jee, where did I write any such thing? You don’t have to do that yourself, but you have to learn to tolerate it, if others choose to do so. Thats tolerance. Its about CHOICE, not FORCE.

Re: How Bollywood shows Pakistan in their moives.

Btw, speaking of babri masjid
