How accurate is Ultrasound in pragnany regarding gender pridiction?
Has anyone know or heard any incident where in ultrasound they they its gonna be a gal but it was a boy. I heard one of my far cousion had ultrasound that its goona be a gal she did all of her shopping and they had to put on pink cloths to boy at hospital.
jus wondering. one of my friend is expecting with her 2nd child and she had strong feeling that its gonna be a boy due to the different pragnany. but the ultrasounographer(I think thats what it called) told her she is not sure but she think its a gal.
there in no guarantee.. one of my friend was told she was having a boy.. her husband is a physician he saw and confirmed it too.. she did all her baby shopping accordingly... and in the end.. she delivered a a healthy baby GIRL... my friend is in US :)

... and i m in canada
i think it depends on how late you do the ultrasound (should be around 20 weeks) and how good of a look you get at the baby's "goods", and having a decent technician. i mean, i can't see how a trained technician can confuse a hand for a penis, you know?
we really want to find out the gender at our 20 week ultrasound, let's just hope baby wants to cooperate!
It all depends on the skill of your doctor (or technician) as well as the position of the baby.
I'm not really sure but I did hear there is usually a 90% chance that the technian is right although you can also have a genetic tests will be able to tell you for sure. If you're having a CVS test or an amniocentesis, then they can tell clearly whether it's XX chromosomes (girl) or XY (boy).
my friend has a gal already and now she was wising for a boy (so the family is complete).
I 'll dua for her . as her susraal is the old fashion one. doesn't really likes gals. and she herself is scared.
MAY ALLAH BLESS HER.
PLease pray for her.
Two of my friends told me the ultrasonologist told them they have baby girl and they shopped accordingly pink pink items and they deocrated baby room pink also and last they both have baby boy.
gender prediction through ultrasound only gives depression to the expecting parents esp the mother...and i really dont believe in this...although i admit i was very curious to know..but when asked my own dr about it..she said its a gal...i couldn't believe this bcz of someother personal reason...i went to another hospital and asked the lady to do my ultrasound..there was no request from any dr..i couldn't ask her tell me the gender bcz that could be a problem here..if i had said she wudn't have done that for me bcz there was no request from any gynae dr in that hospital....i said do my pelvic ultrasound sound...that was a real hi-fi type..it continued for about 20-25 mins...and she remained very concerned throughout...when i received the report..its a boy...i went to my own dr and showed her this report and she was like ohh ok right..i c...(forget it) and said to me if its a girl to kia utha kur bahir phainkdogi..i didn't want to mess with that old lady...good enough to be like my nani...i only remained quiet..i didnt want to give her a response which cud shut her mouth up...laterz after sometime she did the ultrasound and confirmed yeah its a boy...but again i wasn't sure..still i had some doubts..anyhow they got cleared afterwards...

I think this is more common, for the doctors to say its a girl and then it turns out to be a boy sometimes. If the doctor tells you its a boy its usually because they have seen something to make them say this
