Re: ...Houston Visit...
Why are u surprised that there is inter mingling of the opposite sexes in US? I was more surprised to see this kind of behaviour in Lahore and karachi? If this can happen in a Muslim country it should not come as a shock that it is seen in US. Besides I don't think its right to judge or label people for their actions or socializinh habits. God looks at the heart of the man. Its more important to purify the heart and be a good person than to worry whether a girl is wearing a dupatta or not.
Re: ...Houston Visit...
whats inside is whats inside, so if inside is clean, the problem is why is it not showing on the outside, and i pose this question to MY OWN SELF.
Re: ...Houston Visit...
Tashiqa **I am not generalizing. I am just talking about **that particular group of people that I saw with my eyes. Ok fine, they can wear tight jeans with short tops in Ramadan, what about shaking hands with the opposite gender at the time of iftaari? Is that what one is supposed to do? Allah said himself whoever fasted but didn't let go the bad actions, he didn't fast, he just stayed hungry. And besides, it doesn't matter how good you are from the inside, your actions should represent what's inside of you. Can I be a Muslim but worship idols? Afterall, I am a Muslim from heart and I believe in Allah?
Sara why are you surprised? I never said mingling with the opposite gender is right and okay. I used to do it too and I knew it's wrong. What I am talking about here is different because it's in Ramadan and at the time when one is supposed to be remembering Allah and praying for forgiveness.
*Again, I am not trying to generalize. I am talking about that group that I saw and what they were doing (no decency and mixing with opposite gender) was wrong, ESPECIALLY during this holy month in the state of FASTING. *

Re: …Houston Visit…
hmmmm…It could be a possibility. But if they don’t fast, why would they do iftaar parties?
Everyone waited til the iftar time before eating.
