Re: housewife.
i am also not living with inlaws.....
but they came here to stay with us for 2months....
before marriage i knew some desi cooking like pulao biryani qorma salan vegees etc n pasta lasagne spaghetti...n baking plain chocolate n coffee cakes or cupcakes
but my inlaws cook food in totally different way so i learnt from my mil coz hubby likes...
n i also try other recipes....n they come out good
Re: housewife.
Lol. My wife was a good cook, but yes she had to learn so many weird dishes because of me.
Re: housewife.
don't know what happened.....one morning I woke up and I decided to cook.
Re: housewife.
I cook more than meri hone wali ... does this mean that my in-laws would expect me to cook ?
Re: housewife.
If I was your MIL....I'll expect you to cook...so my beti doesn't have to do much ;)
Re: housewife.
Lol^ Erm I was helping out after a week. And sometimes my SIL does help but she's a little lazy. If I'm tired though i do get people to help me. I am looking forward to getting my own place though where I can do what I please and cook what I want.
Did anyone have to learn their in-laws food or did they stick with their own. I think I'm expected to but tbh I don't want to because I dont like my MIL's cooking. :/ I much prefer my own cooking as it tastes a lot like my mums.
How is that fair? Why is the bahu who is still in school as well expected to do more then the daughter. I am not saying the bahu shouldn't do anything but it should be shared.
Re: housewife.
Women's work. 'nuff said.
Re: housewife.
am i being paranoid and over analysing if i feel and want my MIL to like me and do as she says or should i be myself? and be care free if she likes me she likes me and if she dont then she dont? as long as my hubby loves me and supports me should i be bothered what MIL thinks? im just confused and get upset over little things and think about what MIL to be is thinking and whether she is judging me.

Maybe the sil doesn't want to cos her brother doesn't? Not that it's ok for the bahu to do more.. I've never been the 'stereotypical' daughter who does the bulk of the housework with her mum.. The work should be shared fairly imo..

its coz the sil will have to become maasi for her inlaws when she'll get married....so she should be chilling for sometime before marriage...

Whats wrong with it ... its the DIL's house who would be the eventual head of the household where as the SIL is going to get married and leave and do the bulk of the work there.
Even at work the guy who is going to be the manager after gets bulk of the responsibilities because hes going to eventually take over the bigger job where as someones who is going to leave soon is just phased out of the system.
Re: housewife.
i don´t live with my in laws and am treated as guest when visit them so don´t have any experience of working with them.
I don´t like cooking but I can cook almost all desi dishes.:)
