I quit work after being in a corporate job for 9 years. And I was educated here in the US. I chose to stay home after the babies were born because I had the option. I don't regret it.
That sounds just like my sister. She had a super successful career with one of the Big 4 firms, got married, changed jobs and went to a private firm, had kids (mA 3) and has been on maternity leave for the past almost 7 years.
She's currently a housewife by choice - but she's not planning on staying home indefinitely and says she will go back to work when her youngest is in school full-time which will put her out of the workforce for almost 10 years. I'm just concerned that re-entering the workforce will be tough since the industry and standards have changed so much and she's been out of touch.
How do stay-at-home moms deal with re-entering the workforce? Isn't it a challenge? How do you change your mindset from home to career? How doed your family adjust to your changed professional status?
