Does anyone know about a hotel in Karachi and Lahore which is safe, secure, clean and in middle range?
Plz tell me about the location and prices.

I really don`t know what normal prices is for hotel. But something that is cheaper than Avari Hotel and Pearl Continental as they r expensive.

Try Grand Mercure in Karachi - within the aiport limits - good and new hotel.

In Lahore there are lot of hotels on upper Mall road, cost about 1500Rs per day, these days may be more coz of AC. In Lakshmi chowk there is one Lasani, is reasonable, cost 2000Rs per day. But do not go to National Hotel, its very poor compared to what they charge. Similarly Lahore Hotel is poor. You can also find a few near Railway station.

Tnx for all replies. I need a hotel near shopping area in Karachi.
Shopping area as Tariq Road, 3 talwaar, Gulf etc.

Have stayed at Lahore Hotel in Lahore earlier...but don`t like the standard there. I agree that they charge more than they offer.

Then try Embassay Hotel at Nursary. Its close to both Clifton and Tariq Road!

It is quite a good hotel. There is a new hotel in Saddar which is very clean and economical. It is right in front of Sarawan. Sarawan used to be a good hotel in the past. The hotel name is Harmain Tower - single room will cost you up to 3,000 with breakfast. Very good hotel.

PC and Avari are kinda expensive by Pak standards, there are very nice private guest houses for around the $50 mark (prolly a little less than that), and they offer almost everything the expensive ones offer.

Icon, I dont know the names but some friends stayed in some guest houses in F-8 Islamabad, the owners said that they had similar guest houses in other cities too and wanted us to spread the word.

Btw, they are no where like the television program 'Guest House' though, and they don't hire cockroach killers like jaan rambo.

Why the hotels in karachi are so expensive ..

man .. for $115 a night, you can find a luxury hotel in most of the cities in USA .. and that Embassy Hotel in Karachi is that much ... and that is also for a single room ..

and an average of $200.00 a night for PC .. damn .. that is expensive
