At my work, the healthy people drink ice cold water (mostly white Americans), or hot water (mostly Chinese, Vietnamese or other east Asians), while the unhealthy ones obviously drink diet sodas.
So, which one is better, hot water or cold?

Re: Hot or Cold?
^dito :) water is for losers :D
Re: Hot or Cold?
room-temp water is best :k: … esp for sensitive throats like mine.
Re: Hot or Cold?
warm is best! i discovered that in india, i was roaming around, walking a lot to discover the place, and allways carrying a bottle of water cause everyone told me not to drink tap water ![]()
of course the shopkeepers kept them in fridge, so it was icy when i was buying them, and i did not like to drink water so chilly…but after some time in my arms, and under the hot indian summer, the water inside the bottle was warm, and i enjoyed drinking it this way…because when the water is at your body temperature when you drink it, it makes less stress on your organism i think…
Re: Hot or Cold?
icy cold is better because your body burns calories while bringing it to your normal body temperature, hence a workout :D
Re: Hot or Cold?
hot/warm water is better for your body. hot water esp acts as a cleansing agent for inner organs
only very large quantities of cold water will actually effect the metabolism because the body loses some energy when we drink cold water. cold water generally shocks the body which is not good. and its bad for the throat.
Re: Hot or Cold?
Well, if it takes little to no energy to bring the cold water to body temperature than wouldn’t it then be equally cleansing as hot water once it is at body temperature? I guess the only benefit for hot water in this respect is cleansing the esophagus, no?
Re: Hot or Cold?
^^ think soups and why its comfort food....they basically warm the body. i remember watching a show on some japanese villagers that drank warm water regularly and how the documentary said that warm water cleaned their liver/kidney ?? i forget the details.... also the proponents of ayurveda state the drinking warm water in the morning first thing is necessary for proper cleansing of the body.
Re: Hot or Cold?
Rubbish. By the time it reaches the organs it’s at body temperature, regardless of whether it started hot or cold.
Re: Hot or Cold?
Cool water not cold seems to quench the thirst best of all.
Re: Hot or Cold?
that i dunno.
Re: Hot or Cold?
i personally perefer warm. I read somewhere cold water specially taken with meals slows down digestion because stomach's temperature decreses and it adversly effects burning process of intakes.
Re: Hot or Cold?
Coffee- Tea- Ice Cold Water and Room temp. - Juice-
and i also drink soda plus i hate diet soda it taste yucky
Re: Hot or Cold?
warm water......maybe even a little to the warmer side is healthier for you than any other liquid in the world.....
Re: Hot or Cold?
With meals I usually enjoy my water on the rocks i.e. fill the glass with as many ice cubes as possible and then let the water in. MMmmm brain freeze.
Sincerely,
Captain Lota
