I’m not sure but my father told me that many of the traditions followed in our society about fateha are inspired by that. I tried to find it online and come across a copy (not sure whether its true or not)

My reading Urdu is very poor because I don't get some terms ... Point 12 ... Sounds like a restaurant menu to me ...

It says:
A'iza (relatives) se agar ba tayyib khatir ( I guess for sawab) mumkin ho to fateha main hafte main 2-3 baar in ashiyaa se bhi kuch bhej den.
Doodh ka baraf khana saaz agar chay ke bhens k doodh ka ho. Murgh ki biryani, Murgh pulao.. khwah Bakri ka shami kabab, parthe aur balai, feerni, urd ke phareri daal Ma'aa adrak wa lawazim (I don't know phareri daal kia hoti hai), gosht bhari kachoriyan, saib ka pani (nestle juices may suffice), Anaar ka Pani aur Soday ki botal (for digestion purpose I think). Doodh ka barf agar rozana ek cheez ho sake to yun karo. ya jaise munasib jaano. Magar Ba tayyib khatir.. mere likhne per majboor na ho.

13th day mourning in our area, after that brahmbhoj of 13 pundas and this marks end of remose and move on with life:)

Aren't the pundas invited on janam din and barsi (death anniversary) of the deceased?

they are part of everything hindusim has, but protocol of every event are different and varies from one region to another:)
