Ok I don’t know if this will come into gheebat or what.but since we are talking about Hosting meal for a dead person thats why I’m sharing.
I have this 2 Pakistani neighbors. Lets call them A n B
B’s MIL is visiting and she don’t like me for some reason.
Her MIL did a Fatiha for her marhoom husband .I was at A’s home .the MIL came and gave some kheer n pulao to A and told her this is fatiha and how we do on thrusday it’s sawab ka kaam bla blah khair then I left.
Next day the B told to A that her MIL told her to make kheeer n pulao and make it in more quantity cos neighbor Mai dena hai sawab hai parosiyo ka haq hai.perdes Mai ghareeeb tou hain nahi jinko aadmi de.
When B made kheeer n pulao and packed them in 2 boxes, her MIL ask her why 2? B replied one for A and one for Kinzz.
Her MIl said..
Nahi kinzz muje achi nahi lagti ..tum A ke liye hi pack karo.
B said then lets don’t give to A then,
Her MIL..kyu? Parosiyo ka haq hai sawab milta hai..Fatiha Ki hai dena to haq banta hai parosiyo ko A ke liye pack kar do..baki kinzz muje achi nahi lagti..

such a SaRRu MIL B got… I used to go in Devbandi Madrasa.. In normal circumstances they talk lot against Fateha Khani and all that but they happily consume kheer and halwa even if they were told its for Fateha

Yes and even there is no concept of barsi and Eid Milad in Islam. These are cultural things adapted in local Muslims.

^ how about Valentines day?? ( my last visit to Pakistan ) karachi’s street were full of roses and baloons and Teddy bears coz it was valentines season.
