The hoor mentioned in quran number of times. What is your perception about a hoor ?

A word used in english for this being is wrong in my humble opinion.

Again in my opinion a hoor is not a girl or woman. Although she might look like human female but she is not a complete woman.

Can she reproduce ? I dont think her DNA is designed for that task.

Virgin is a trait, quality or attribute.

A cat can be virgin.

So A hoor is a virgin. Okey but what is anther word for hoor ?

I never dreamed of hoors in my idea of heaven... for some reason Heaven for me is a place beyond the flames and beyond the blades.

Thankyou for trying to define a creature.

I humbly disagree with this defination.

A perfect mate should be capable of reproduction. If he/she is not then it is not perfect, according to our worldly desire/needs. An impotent/low sperm count man is not a perfect mate for a fertile woman.

The creature under discussion is no doubt is beautiful design, architecture, smell and touch. But I want to understand the dynamics of its nature.

Will that hoor be able to express passion & gratification during sexual intercourse ?

Will they be able to express anger, laughter and joy at different occasions ?

Will they be able to engage in lively debate or discusson on certain topics for instace fashion trends, history and Art etc ?

Will there be any jealousy among fellow beings ?

The answer to all queston is negative.

My defination :

I have pondered a lot about its design with quranic reference being the primary source of investigaton. If someone is interested i can show you a design in animation which I think explains the general nature and design of this creature.

cody you have too much time at your hands. You can ponder on better topics and come up with real world solutions for real world like global warming , green energy , hunger , sickness , poverty , and illiteracy.
If you can come up just one good idea for solution of any one of these problems you might get a hoor in after life and then you could examine her/him to your hearts content. Till then dream on.

They will be perfect for the needs of the heaven dweller not the human on Earth. In heaven we will not be reproducing and hence we will not need fertile hoor nor will they need us to be fertile.

So my definition stands your contention needs to be sound in order for it to be valid, however your argument was not sound. You've assumed that there will be sexual intercourse without asking about what type of intercourse will be present for beings that will not need to reproduce.

Also, if they are perfect for the heaven dweller then the heaven dweller is indeed perfect for them. They will be intoxicated with the presence of the heaven dweller. Their being close and serving the heaven dweller will be like a nourishment for them and fulfilment in a similar manner to what you say is passion and gratification. Of course this has to be the case there is no mystery in it.

I always say this and I will say this again, I am quite certain that there is a lot more to heaven than we are taught from an early age. Our typical maulvi description of heaven and hoors sounds nothing more than a testosterone fuelled fantasy. Perhaps our interpretation of hoors and other perks of heaven is flawed? I believe (and hope) there is a lot more to heaven than rivers of milk and orgies with hot women. This world and all its attractions are supposed to be a sham and mere distraction, in which case whatever there is beyond this life has to be a lot different from it all, including the standards of pleasure and luxury. If that is not the case, then for the sake of my own sanity I would rather be in a nice peaceful place where I grow what I eat - at least I will have something to look forward to, and something to keep me occupied. I really don't agree with the playboy mansion concept of heaven.

My thoughts are almost exactly like yours. I have a question. How do you reconcile this belief of yours with what the Quran says or does this create doubt in your heart? (because the Quran definitely mentions rivers, silk clothing, hoors etc, so we cannot attribute the perception of heaven merely to Maulvis' interpretations).

Btw, the concept of hoor for men only is also in line with the allowance of polygamy for men only. So why exactly do some people claim that there will be male hoor for females as well...

Pricessjojo - I don't know really, there are a few things mentioned in the Quran and which we are taught from the start that I am now struggling to understand. The story behind our creation, damnation of the devil, creation of heaven and hell, free-will, judgement and such. I do not question it, but I sure am struggling to understand the real concept behind it. Personally I think it is down to interpretation, these specifics are mere illustration to help us understand, and we can't take everything literally. We have held on to the hotties, silk robes and rivers of milk and wine, and we have forgotten the real message behind everything - humanity. Anyway, the point is I have questions, I reckon anybody who has thought about it should have the same questions, yet I am surprised that nobody has the answers. I have been too damn lazy to do my own research on things to be honest, but I will. Either way I am not buying these hormone fuelled ideas of heaven pitched by our wise ones.

Yes.

This is what is called trying to grasp an idea which is beyond the ability of human mind.

Quran says many things which are based on worldly examples. Night and day, Horses, Mosquito, clinging object etc.

Does that mean if Quran says about Hoors in Jannah in same way?

No. Because, *there is no real fun and excitement if one can comprehend the fun beforehand. *

Just trust/follow Allah, you will get the fun.

One cannot think of hoors in term of worldly objects like someone who would have same properties as pretty women on earth with various worldly emotions and capable of **bearing a child. That woud be too easy for Allah to give away the info....... and people not to pursue the legitimate ways to get to these hoors!!! Think about it please.**

Jaanwala hoor is the part of Janah you cant seprate it there are fruits lot of lot of things to eat and also butt most greater reward will be that we will be able to see JANNAH. and for others Hoors are basically women but nobody on earth can imagine their beauty

^ Then how is being in jannah any different or better than say Zardari’s current life? If it is all about some exotic stuff that you can eat, a luxurious cush place and a bunch of hot women. I mean any billionaire today is pretty much living the jannah then, with all those luxuries and the quality of all the tail they get you and I can only imagine. That all can’t be what jannah is about man :hehe: It has got to be something way better and way different from all this stuff.
