Rabia - Thats good news, u guys must be going soon?
SanaZ - I havent even thought about what to pack or buy bcos theres so much wedding prep to sort out and shopping to be done! I will start giving it some thought a month before we go i think :) I think DistinctiveF has pretty much named the essentials!
Shum - There are plenty of gorgeous resorts to choose from, all it depends on is what your after. Maldives isnt cheap but u can find resorts which cater for all budgets.. My chosen resort in maldives is costing us about £5000, includin seaplane transfers. Food is pretty expensive so goin half board is a big advantage altho we havent. What you choose depends on the type of honeymoon u want, i wanted to indulge in luxury, plenty of privacy and good food.
Couple of luxurious 5* resorts - W retreat & spa (where im staying), huvafen fushi, taj exotica, coco palm bodhu hithi (very good option for honeymoon and not as expensive as the others iv named) and Baros (good reviews on this, not extremely expensive). Best thing to do is look at a few and read reviews on tripsadvisor, then start shopping around for prices! I spent months on looking and finally made my decision!
U dont have to spend loads of money but the way i see it is, if u can den it is definately worth it. The accomodation and views are amazing, i think every penny we'v spent is gonna be worth it and anyone who has been to this resort would agree. Not to say that a cheaper alternative is no good, course it is.. like the one DistinictiveF suggested.
*Fasadi *- I totally agree with u. The hospitality is amazing and adds that extra special touch. The spa's are amazing, the restaurants are amazing, the excursions are very romantic and best of all ur room/views are spectacular.
**Maham - **me and my hubby wana explore many more countries wen wer married, Maldives is just our idea of the perfect honeymoon. Probs wont do it again cos we wana go loads of other places, esp Pak :D
**Distinctive - **I understand wat ur saying, u CAN get ur money's worth by visitin a 4 star resort. However i totally disagree with u on 'getting bored'...
Its a very broad statement to make! and bit of an insult to those who have spent alot of money and had the best time. From the sounds of it uv travelled alot with ur hubby, but for me and many others its our first experience of goin away so chances of getting bored are very slim. Like I said i understand the point ur making and for others who are considering Maldives, if ur lookin for alot of hustle and bustle then this probs isnt the best place.
