Honeymoon Destinations 2015

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

$12,000 USD to go to Turkey for two people? That's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. If she's going from PK, I think flights might be around $2,000USD for two people and for accomodation, even if she stayed in a median hotel could be had for $1,600. All you need to add on top of that is local transport and food and miscellaneous - so, let's say another $1,000. That comes to under $5,000 USD or 5 lakh PKR.

And quite frankly, she could stay in cheaper accomodation (I estimated $200USD a night, which is really generous) - that amount could be halved and eating in smaller cafes could also bring down the food costs.

I say it could easily be done in $3,500-$4,000 or 4lakh PKR.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

thanks i love your costing...especially the part where we will have to skip the luxuries of good dining and accomodotaion for a budgeted honeymoon:D...mayb we shld fast during the hobeymoon to spend nthng o the food at all:D

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

4 lak i believe is a convincing amount.will talk to him about itandkeep u guys posted!

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

That was really snarky... @Sehrysh laid out a sensible plan for you, so there's no call for sarcasm.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

What do you expect from the poster who says she’s “compromising” by living with his family so at least deserves a posh honeymoon..because we all know that it’s the honeymoon that really matters, right?

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

Hey, you’re the one who considers a foreign honeymoon to be a sunnat, just like a valima - as if honeymoon kay baghair nikkah hi na-mukamal ho

If you truly understood that marriage was about partnership as virtually EVERYONE in this thread has said, you’d understand a “honeymoon” is not about going on a luxurious vacation, but about spending time with your husband. The post was to demonstrate that if you LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS, there are options.

But whatever. Make your husband spend money he may not have, just to make you happy.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

Any of you suggesting Maldives, Mauritius or Sychelles for being cheap..since when guys?

I have always wanted to do one of these but dont think we can afford it for honeymoon destination since its SUPER expensive…like over £2500 pp for 7nts for a decent accomodation etc…
cheap and short city break for us somewhere in Europe the max..

And for OP…why on earth would you insist on having a Posh honeymoon when you know the guy cant afford it? Disney Princess the marriage is not only about 7 days of honeymoon :bummer:

Honeymoon Destinations 2015

OP you asked me for a breakdown of maritiuis

We flew for 10 nights all inclusive and it cost us £3k and it wasnt their hottest season but still hot. We had maldives booked but unfortunatley due to wedding date changes n same deal not available at new dates we cancelled. Dubai & maldives was costing us £5k

Morroco we went to agadir for my hubbys best friends wedding. we stayed at a nice hotel all inclusive and cost us £810 in total for the week. Food is cheap outside the hotel and we spent alot of time at the brides house anyway but would deffo go back to explore more.

No offense but you should support ur hubby to do what js within his means. And not reject what hes putting forward that just comes across as snobbish. Just appreciate it! Some people dnt even get a honeymoon

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

Ladies, gents...it was not a sarcastic comment come on..infact that person, gave me quiet a detailed costing exactly according to my needs..i am extrmely sorry,if it came out this way .i totally did not mean it the way u guys just started bombarding lol. Relax i came to this forum for views and details, wanting a great honeymoon is not wrong..and yes for a person who has never lived or been near a joint family..that is a very big step and a big compromise...my fiance n i ALHUMDULLILAH love each other. I came here for ideas for a budgeted honeymoon which wldnt burden my fiance so much and at the same time i cld get what i want..i dont think there ia anythg wrong.or selfish in this..

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

Sehrish i guess i posted the starving cmmnt as a reply to your post..it came across totally, wrong.so i personally apologize. Frankly ur post and a p.m i got has been the most helpful so far..as for all the ppl who started cmmntng n judgng lol..relax ppl!

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

What has given you all the idea that am insisting my fiance? ..i posted the beginning post that so you all can have an idea of my situation. Please let me be clear as i have mntioned before, my fiance is low on finance but has great potential. I think bella shahaba understood me cmpletely when she said in her post about her going to morroco for less and david beckham spending a night in a 2.5 k room..thats exactly what i am looking for. A place thats amazing, very popular, one that i havent visited before and not so bad on the pocket either.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

But there is this member who personal mesaaged me reading this forum and gave me this amazimg link of turkey tours from pak..i guesa if u open up a thread of your.own she might be able.to help you to..she said she doesnt post on threads any more.

Am sure i can still find the best most economical honeymoon destination inshALLAH.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

I must say you should work on having a wonderful marriage instead of focusing on an expensive and luxurious wedding or thinking about after wedding ceremonies. BOL

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

So just to break down the costs for you, these numbers obviously depend on circumstances like: how many days are you going for; what time of year (peak season/off-peak season); which airport are you flying out of etc. but here are some real numbers.

Assumptions I made: flying out of Lahore and August trip (11th to 18th) - that's 8 days/7 nights.

Hotel: Armada

Located in Sultanhamet and within walking distance of Hague Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hipporome, Topikapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar. Apparently there is also a train and metro station close by.

This includes a breakfast buffet, meaning you're saving on one meal per day and would only have to pay for lunch, dinner and snacks.

^ The location alone allows you to save on transportation costs

**Flights

**Via Qatar Airways, stopover in Doha. Price is $1,295/ per person. For a grand total of $2,600.

For the exact same hotel and similar flights (similar duration and stopovers), if you were to go in November, the cost would be slightly less.

Essentially, that leaves you with between $900 to $1,400 to spend on food and miscellaneous expenses, which if you're fiscally prudent, can be managed easily and managed down. Go to small cafes for lunch and treat yourself to nice dinners, or vice versa. I use the rule of thumb of one nice meal per day and that too less because of money and more because I hate coming back from vacation having gained 10 pounds.

You'll have expenses like airport to hotel transfer, maybe visas, internal trips (cruise on the Bosphorous, or other day trips) - but this can still be done within a reasonable budget if you do your research.

Point being, book early and book smart and there are a lot of deals to be.

^ Oh, and this took me like 3 minutes of using Google. It took me longer to type this up, then to look this up. It's pretty easy to book your own travel plans online these days, and can help save money.

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

For Turkey, you also have to factor in the cost for the e-visa (for US nationals it's $20, you'll have to look up and see what it is for your nationality)....also, the museum costs..entry for Aya Sofia is about $35 pp, Topkapi Palace is also $35pp, with another $11 pp for entry into the Harem Appartments. Bosporous cruises can be as cheap (the short 1.5 cruise is only 12 lira or $6 pp...proper touristy dinner crusies (don't recommend that) or the longer full day 6-8 hour cruises are much more and frankly, not worth it IMO.

The best thing about the hotels in turkey is that breakfast is included in your hotel rate. You'll get a full breakfast buffet of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, eggs, honey and pastries etc. Do a nice breakfast that will fill you up, and then just nosh on something from the many street carts for a quick lunch. Plan on doing a proper sit down meal for dinner only, but beware..90% of restaurants are CRAZY expensive since its the tourist area

Re: Honeymoon Destinations 2015

You know honestly I LOVE Turkey but don't go there with a restricted budget. If and when you go to explore Istanbul also visit other cities like Cappadocia ans its breathtaking hot air balloon rides, other cities too offer world heritage sites and Trojan horse etc. Plan it for your first anniversary and explore it completely so u can check it off ur bucket list.

I would suggest Dubai but without the hustle and bustle of the typical Dubai! Book a resort stay at Cove Rotana in Ras al khaimah or Bab al Shams, Zabeel Sarey etc for a week and chill there for a week or so. Trust me its very romantic & resorts are huge and have a lot to offer. Sharing some of my personal pics to inspire you :)
