Honey moon period

There’s a lot of celebration in the air. Nawaz sharif will soon find out that the throne is not a bed of roses.

Some things of immediate concern:

  1. economy: it needs to be seen how his government will manage the economy of the country. They need to raise taxes and maybe renegotiate with IMF and other financial organisations to raise finances and repaying debts. This could further increase the inflation in the country.

  2. energy: punjab has voted for the party as they were successful in convincing people that the energy woes of the province was due to the federation. They’ll need funds to pay back the circular debt and starting new power projects (long term).

  3. external affairs: they’ll have to help the Americans leave Afghanistan as well as try to keep taleban at bay. It would be interesting to see Pakistans relationship with Afghanistan, India and America.

  4. internal affairs: lets see how they deal with the taleban issue, karachi and balochistan. Each is challenging in its own right.

  5. health and education

the people who have voted for the party have a lot of expectations from PMLN. If it does not deliver the people will very quickly get disenchanted with them.

Re: Honey moon period

He already knows this fact as he is not new in Politics
InshaAllah every thing will be settled, definitely it will take some time but I hope if he will complete his tenure many problems will be solved and write my words here :jhanda:

Baqi main maikh nikalna to logoon ka kaam hay so iss say unhoon nay baaz naheen aana hay :cb:

Re: Honey moon period

^ main maikh is an important part of politics.

i personally consider PMLN also responsible for our current plight due to their acting as a b team of PPP during the past 5 years. If they has acted as an opposition our situation would have been much better.

Re: Honey moon period

You forgot the most important!

appointing the next COAS on merit (Kayani's term or extension rather expires in Nov 2013)

Re: Honey moon period

Yes relationship with the military.

Re: Honey moon period

He could send him back to his mom, you know reconciliation policy.

he can now initiate case unser article 6 against him if they want to.

Re: Honey moon period

I am just waiting for the day that he gets booted out AGAIN...and that also for the THIRD time....

(had to capitalise those words...coz some ppl are too blind to see it)

As for Kayani...I wonder if he will ever leave...what they did in Karachi was just awesome that NS might decide to keep him!

Re: Honey moon period

a second extension is out of the Q imo

Re: Honey moon period

^there is a lot of things happening in Pakistan that is always out of the Q!

Re: Honey moon period

PTI = khyber pakhtunkhwa
PML - N = Punjab
Competition is good for awam :biggthumb:

Re: Honey moon period

I don’t think so. Based on his speeches it seems his most important task is to hang musharaf and find a way to take revenge from the army.

Re: Honey moon period

Knowing how dumb he is, I have no doubt that he'll try his utmost best to hang Musharraf and in the process, have military on his back once again. I fear for this government's survival once Kiyani leaves. By and large, army still doesn't like this fool.

Re: Honey moon period

janab…it will be a hugeeeeeeeeeeee challenge to handle all of this…nawaz sharif needs to be so accommodative and so vigilant to handle these tasks…but yes lets give him some time..

I fully accept his mandate..lets see how he delivers.
