Honest question to Pakistanis here

Hello all,

I just registered not too long ago, but I have a question that I hope a lot of you can answer.

Why is it that Pakistanis as a whole, whether it is in their own country, or even worse, in the diaspora, continue to endorse the actions of extremists, especially the Taliban?

Before I am met with hostility, I am speaking from my personal experiences with Pakistanis here in Sydney. The Pakistanis here I have noticed have a penchant towards extremism and have no problem expressing full support for the Taliban and wish for Australia to be the splitting image of the Taliban’s rule. In addition, there have been a spate of gang rapes a few years ago that were, again, committed by Pakistani men, whom the Pakistani community have actually come to the defense of the rapists as opposed to condemning them.

Their insistence on claiming the Taliban are great is nothing short of disgusting, and they have even gone as far to accuse the Hazara refugees of being prolific liars or worse, claiming they deserve to be slaughtered because they are kuffar.

I do recall a moment when the London bombings happened 3 and a half years ago, and one Pakistani kid told me that he hopes more bombs woudl reign on London, and he told me that many in his family were proud to be Pakistani after the bombers were found to be Pakistani! How disgusting is that?

I’m not trying to be a troll here, but I’m sure there are many non-Pakistanis who are wondering why Pakistanis as a whole tend to endorse Taliban fanaticism. Heck, you can go on other Muslim boards such as ShiaChat and they say the same thing about Pakistan!

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

^Its obvious that your ony source of info about Pakistan is shiachat, get out of the well froggie

You misunderstood me. I stated that Pakistani Shi'as who also post on ShiaChat state the same thing about Pakistanis as well. Doesn't surprise me since they are at the receiving end of violence by the Taliban.

hey there ..

firstly , as a muslim I totally reject the taliban's actions and the act of cowardice that the terrorists are undertaking ...they claim its for Allah ... but nowwhere in the holy book or the sunnah , does it say that killings, bombing, slaughtering is accetable.

Secondly as a pakistani , I feel ashamed that these terrorists are using our land and identity to cover themselves... We , the nation of Pakistan are equally the victims of terrorism as much as the west ...

and if a handful people feel that the taliban are right or the bombings were right , I seriously believe they need to read the basics of Islam and get rid of their ignorance.

It will be wrong to say that most of the Pakistani's are in support of Taliban and terrorism. We as a nation denounce it. However as a nation we believe the west is behind creating a propaganda against Islam and the muslims .. directly or indirectly their policies are turning more and more people into terrorists... the only difference is some sections of society have chosen to rebel against the west through murder and weapons, others feel taliban are doing the right thing since they are the only one's who have raised their voice against this war of propaganda.

but I reiterate , no muslim has been permitted by Allah to kill and bomb innocent souls .. we denounce these cowardly acts not just of the taliban but also the western elements who are equally responsible for the hatred they have implanted in the hearts of muslims.

I am gonna take you to a relative argument - cause that's what is ticking me off at this time!

What do you think the Israeli's are doing? They are LAUGHING, KILLING, MURDERING, WOUNDING, INJURING, DEGRADING the innocent. CAN WE DISCUSS THAT ATROCITIES FIRST - SINCE IT'S SO CURRENT AND HAPPENING LIVE AT THIS MOMENT?

While you are directing these NEVER ending argumentative questioning - you must remember that the first who throws a stone is just looking for unsettling disputes till infinity. You know VERY WELL who THREW the stone first.

While you are directing these questions to Pakistani's - I hope you are all over the world message boards too - targeting and condemning the Israeli occupation in GAZA.

It's very convenient for you guys to murder. Cowards. Oh and I never thought I would say this but I MISS HITLER. I did not know him before - MA BAD.

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

Theres a saying, 'you many know a man by the company he keeps'. Stop socializing with such ignorant freaks, I live outside Pakistan as well, and to date have never come across any taliban-loving Pakistanis (quite the opposite in fact), whether Sunni or Shia.

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

hey.. another aussie :k: good stuff

to be honest, ur prob not meeting the right people. I think its a little bit of a generalisation. Lots of people (most of the people) i know do not endorse fanaticism and do not support the taleban at all…

who are u meeting with?

and the gang rapes, werent they lebanese?

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

mayor of NY bloomberg and chief of police are going to israel to show their support for the people and government of israel for all the hunting of the palestinians they are doing. do you have the guts to label them as terrorist lovers?

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

you've got some bad company man!

Anyone can adopt muslim-sounding name and post as an Indian muslim bad mouthing Pakistani but this guy is 100% Hindu- I can guarantee. It's sad that the Internet gives option for these people to express their frustrations and troll here.

There are people of all sorts, I don't think whole Pakistani community would've supported those rapists or do you know for a fact that ALL of them did?

What did YOU do in this case? (or are you not Pakistani?)

It is hard to believe that all Pakistani community would be saying that, it is possible that uneducated lot who blindly believes in Taliban supporting them in that fashion, I am sure you can find similar "Pakistanis" in England in abundance too.

Pakistan did officially support Taliban until US decided to bomb Afghanistan so that may be one reason some Pakistanis support Taliban, some stopped supporting them when they saw their real face in Pakistan.

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

I dont know a single person who supports the Taliban or their actions to this day. Not one soul...they are a breed on their own and I dont consider them Muslim.

I dont endorse the Taliban, I despise them... May they burn in hell..
Most Pakistanis who do are ignorant and foolish. They dont know any better.

I am impressed Med.

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

Expect evil from pple who have suffered Evil!!!

Re: Honest question to Pakistanis here

I dont think Pakistanis like or support Taliban. some illiterate one may support them only and only cause they fight against US!

hate against US and west only breeds from the issues like Palestine where the support actively the aggressor Israel. same hate is used by taliban and alqaeda to recruit more people!

world is trying to kill the symptoms not the actual problem. If issues like Palestine and Kashmir are addressed with justice! there will be hardly any excuse left for such terrorist organisation to radicalised young minds, hence less terrorism and peaceful world.

i explained the reasons that act as impetus to radicalised people. it doesnt mean I support actions by taliban etc

I dont think Pakistanis support taliban and terrorist actions around the world.

Everybody should ask this question to themselves: assume you are a Palestinian, you dont have army to defend your country, world dont listen to you on dialogue table, you live in constant agression from the state that is installed on your own homeland, you face daily humiliation by enemy army at check points within your country, you and your countrymen has been living in constant depression of war and occupation for 60 years! how many options you are left with? and world is just watching you die, destroyed everyday! instead come to support the agressors!!

hopeless and shameless but true!

They live out in Lakemba and Ashfield.

The ones I was talking about occurred after the infamous Sydney gang rapes of 2000. This occurred in Ashfield, where 4 Pakistani brothers gang-raped numerous white girls and pinned the blame on their cultural upbringing, stating that in Pakistan women do not go out, further claiming that it was the girls’ fault for being raped. And I can guarantee you that there are unfortunately a large segment of Muslims in Australia who would be likely to blame the victims for rape than the perpretrators.

Since when do Indians have a name like Navid?

Yet a visit to forums such as IslamicAwakening or even Deenport would beg to differ with your assessment.

Why must all of you always bring up Israel? Does it look like I support Israel?

Should I bring up all the Muslims that came out in support of the disgusting act of taking a school hostage in Beslan, Russia, and calling Shamil Basayev a hero? Do you have the guts to call them terrorist dogs?

Oh wait, I forgot. According to fanatics like you, no Muslim can do any wrong, right?

1) I'm not Israeli. I'm Iranian-Australian. Unlike a majority of Pakistanis living in Australia, I don't hold disdain for the country I live in and would die for it.

2) Posts like yours and the lack of condemnation by other posters further proves how hateful Pakistanis are and how tolerant they are of anti-Semitism. Criticism of Israel is one thing, but downright hatred of Jews is unacceptable.

3) If you're going to bring up the atrocities of Gaza, then it is fair to bring up the horrible atrocities the Pakistani military inflicted on the Bengalis in the early 70's, to where the level of brutality was so severe that it made the Serbs look like benevolent conquerors. A Pakistani complaining about the brutality of Israel's treatment of Gazans falls on deaf ears when they themselves have their history of committing atrocities.

4) In essence, it is acceptable for the Pakistani Taliban to kidnap and behead Shi'as, and proudly videotape it for all to see, yet cry foul if the Israelis bomb Gaza. Basically, to you, Muslim-on-Muslim violence is acceptable.

Edited: Double post.

Don't lecture me about war. My family lived through the Iran-Iraq war so I think I know war better than 95% of the posters here, whom have never had the chance to lose a loved one or two against an invading force.
