homosexuals and the respect committee

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

It sure does. Glad you understand.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

See, I knew that we could get through to those who (at first) believed that being gay was not a choice.

Just so you know… people give in to their desires & people do what they want regardless of what others do.

If people only cared about not being stoned, then no-one would be Muslim anymore, no-one would protest, no-one would fight the government etc etc

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

:frusty: You know I really don’t care if you aren’t able to see any other person’s point of view except your own because you only have one way of thinking. You’re like a horse with blinkers on. I have my point of view and you have yours and you can’t use the phrase “because God says that this is a sin” to support your views.

I refuse to hate or judge another person because of their choice of lifestyle.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Thanks for finally agreeing that it’s a choice.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

A choice to finally not hide the fact that they are gay.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

I’m tired

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Wonderful story, if you'd like I can share the story of Icarus and how he flew too close to the sun, melting the wax of his wings and went crashing into the sea.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Very bad disaster recovery attempt.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Makeup boy, you say you know that people aren't born gay, explain how you know this?

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

All others religions aside, if a Muslim, Christian, or a Jew state that Being gay is by birth then it means they are arguing with their God who actually told them otherwise in His books revealed to them.

If they insist, then they should realize that they are expressing that they do not believe in their religion. How hard is that to come to the conclusion?

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

That's a seperate issue. Why not ask a Gay religious person I'm sure they can provide you an answer.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Separate issue :rotfl:

wait… :rotfl::hehe:

Okay, I am done

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Domey, First of all, God doesn’t create Gay people. Secondly, If bisexual people can choose their sexual orientation when they see fit, surely other people can choose to only be with a memeber of the same sex. Or, are you going to tell me there’s a “bisexual” gene out there as well. :rotfl:

I suppose serial killers are born with a “serial killer” gene.

Man, this gets better by the second.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

I have even heard reports of people trying to proove that murderes are born with a muderer gene too…

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

And some people say it's okay for cousins to marry cousins.

WaSalaam

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

...well, yeah...why is cousin marriage looked down on? Or brother sister love?

Dude, that's a bad argument to bring up with people who are all for restrictions. It's you who are advocating the inclusive stance based on "mutual love"...the way I see it, it's you (and not us) who has to justify why one restriction is valid, and not the other.

Our stance is mandated by faith.

Now, what's your excuse?

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Homosexuality is not defined by a philospohy, or an attribute, but an act. No sexual relation implies no social grouping called homosexuals. If we believe it is a sin to engage in homosexual sex, then it's hard to think one can expect us to stand up and say "it's okay to be a practicing homosexual".

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Do people forget their childhood so easily? I distinctly remember not being attracted sexually to either sexes as a child (say 5-6 years old). Sex did not become an appealing notion until puberty.

Socially, I was aware that I was meant to be attracted to women, so that's how I turned out...if homosexuality was presented to me as a viable option, I honestly don't know what my feelings would be today.

Little things had a huge impact on my views...with hindisght...such as two men kissing (usually accidently, as part of a comic routine) would invoke a chorous of "eewwwww" from my siblings...things like that had an effect.

Shrugs...maybe some people just forget this aspect of their youth.

One thing I can say for certain, was that I was definitely socialized as a hetrosexual.

So I really don't buy this notion of being born with a particular sexual preference. Most likely, you're natural state is bi-sexual, and due to a myraid of social reasons one develops an affinity for one or the other.

Is homosexuality a fetish? You know, some people can't get "turned on" unless they're being unrinated on...

If one want's to speak of homosexuality in biological terms, then what the hell is the evoloutionary imperative behind that trait?

I dunno...it just doesn't add up.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

"Mandated by faith" that gives you a blank check across the board doesn't it? And it explains why one of such a faith would want to discount evidence that shows people are born gay, after all in essiance that discounts their faith. "Mandated by faith", rational thought and science goes out the door...well you can't teach a person to run if they choose to use crutches.

Re: homosexuals and the respect committee

Name me a nother "group" of people on earth who are defined by a sexual act?

Let's be clear, homosexual as a socio-ethnic group is a modern construct designed to win public support for extending rights that were once exclusive to nuclear families to those who want similar rights for a sexual paradigm that falls outside of the norm (both, moral and statistical).

You'll kindly not play that trick here.

Homosexuals are not a "people".
