Homosexuality

I'm not Islam and (I'm gonna get flamed for saying this) I can't believe in a God, any God, that can comdemn a person for something beyond their control. Poeple don't just choose to be gay, I'm sure some poeple would really not like to be, and it's no reason to hate them. It's like... I was born a girl, which I had no control over, but it makes me no less than a man. I guess all I'm trying to say is that there is enough hate floating around this world and we don't need anymore. Maybe it's a sin to be gay, but does Allah say anything about having to hate gays and lesbians because they are?

alright..homosexuality is a sin in Islam…agreed!
but there is no way Islam tells us to disrespect/hate homosexuals.
we’ve gotta stop using Islam to defend our hatred of the way some people chose to live their lives
btw..im not saying that all of u who say homosexuality is a sin in Islam, hate gays/lesbians etc

In order to love somthing truly ,you have to hate ,otherwise you do neither.

Its like without cold you dont appreciate heat& vice versa.

I say if very soon we dont hate NOTHING ,then we will stop loving too anything .

although it belongs in the religion section, but here goes.

And call to mind Lot when he said to his people, `You commit an abomination such as no one among mankind has ever committed before you (al-ankabut, 29:28)

And (We sent) Lut, when he said to his people: What! do you commit indecency while you see? (al-Naml, 27:54)

Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant!(al-Nam, l27:55)
Clear that it's definitely disliked by Allah.

I'm still learning. I haven't discovered a 'crush-the-homo-under-a-wall' kinda commandment yet, but am open to education.

These are GOD's revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than GOD and His revelations do they believe?(45:6)

Ok, I hear the words abomination and ignorance. That can be applied to anything. i don't think God says homosexuals should be punished by people, does He?

Pakistaniabroad, as for open to education, if the Quran had said kill all homosexuals, would you have done as such?

I'm broken

Actually Sarah i’d have left it to the governments to decide, but I am of the belief that there is something like a ‘supreme being’ and this is not all about one big ‘accident’ that happened. There IS a purpose to our being on this planet, and there are repurcussions for our acts, and direct orders in the book have a reason, so yes.. I would endorse it.

The very fact that there isn’t such a ‘commandment’ reassures me of the strength of my beliefs in this doctrine and the reminder that this God I worship is Forgiving, and Merciful.

.

Quran, 26:165 - 26:166

"Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, And leave those whom God has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!"

Both the Quran and the Hadith (for GHC: The 2 sources of legal jurisprudence in Islam) make it clear that the act of commiting homosexual intercourse is a sin; at least one Hadith defines male sodomy as being a capital crime. Lesbian sexual activity is viewed as less severe sin, though also criminal in nature: one Hadith describes it as being a form of zina (illicit sexual activity). Islamic law, I understand, requires someone found guilty of zina to recieve 100 lashes.

Of course, these punishments only apply if homosexual sex is actually physically carried out. The concept of a "thought-crime" does not exist in Islam. People are free to do whatever they want within the confines of their own minds.
