Re: homosexuality
Is thread ko kisne jagaya?
Its confusing shortdog but then again, its not. Islam clearly condemns homosexuality and if you follow the basics of our religion then you do too. I know this is not a religious discussion but Im Muslim and my thought process is influenced by my religion. Btw, when I say "you", Im generalizing.
Living in the west, you come across homosexuals a lot. Its part of everyday life and people are becoming numb to it. Isnt there a new breed to now? Metrosexuals?
Personally, I have met a lot of homosexuals and found them to be nice people. BUT homosexuality is wrong in Islam and one cannot ignore that. While Im not one to go out and start punishing people for their sexual preferences, Im not one to openly encourage it either.
I wouldnt expose my children to it, lets put it that way.
overdone anything is ridiculous, whether it is a man taking care of himself, or whether it is desi ladies whining that they have nothing to wear because they have worn their $800 outfit three times and people have seen them in it. extremes are bad in any case. guys being so focused on clothing and themselves that its vanity at the expense of everything else is def not right but sadly the way it goes is that this extreme vanity is being defined as metrosexual and then that term is set to encompass any guy who bothers to use moisturizer and wears trousers that are teh right length and fit well and polishes his shoes :)
However, the practice of men caring about their wellbeing, their quarters, their clothing, and themselves is nothing new, and stretches back to ancient civilisations.
btw, what is considered a "metrosexual" in US is considered quite normal in europe.

ok.. its considered normal and acceptable to be of gay orientation.. and apparently its uncool to hate on the homos of this world
what are ur views on this.. id especially like to here from people in westerrn countries where its open..
Well it is obviously uncool to hate on anyone based on their sexual orientation.
Personally, I think that no one chooses to be gay. Thats just how some people are programmed. For straight people its very easy to think that its gross and unnatural but for someone whos gay, they only feel attracted to same sex people. Gays have been around since humans have been. So many ancient Greek, Japanese, Chinese mythology talk about gay love and gay relationships so its certainly not a new "western plague" as many people call it.
Re: homosexuality
i wouldn't treat a nice homosexual any differently than i would a nice heterosexual. their sexual orientation has no effect on me. i don't think homosexuality is the way to go but if that's how they are then that's how they are.

i agree. i don't think gays choose to be gay, not all of them atleast. i know these says it's "in" to be bisexual, but i'm not talking about those people. people who are actually gay can't really help it. i was bored and doing some research on it a few days ago and i found that there is somewhat of a biological basis to homosexuality. the brain of some homosexuals is different from the brain of heterosexuals. i think it was the hypothalamus in homosexuals which was significantly smaller.
Re: homosexuality
Maybe the people who watched wrong porn movies at an early age became gay :)
Re: homosexuality
ok whilst i dont agree with homosexaulity i dont think we have any right to judge anyone i know plenty of people who are gay and u know wat if they r happy let them be
Re: homosexuality
i always wondered what would happen if a girl married a man that was gay but in desi society he chose to act straight to satisfy society? i would feel so bad for her because she would have a lifetime of being with somebody that is gay and that's in denial.........right? inshallah that never happens to any woman but i'm sure there are cases of married couples in such a situation.
Re: homosexuality
Each one of God's creations deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We have no right to hate people who have not wronged us. I may not practice homosexuality, I may even consider it a sin, but that doesn't mean I can't be kind and friendly with you.

totally agree. but what happens if a man is truly a homosexual and even if his desi parents "make" him change by marrying him off to a straight girl............that would ruin the girl and guy's life.
homosexuality has been around since forever. they are humans and need to be accepted for what they are.

Re: homosexuality
Homosexuality is not a sin in Islam - homosexual acts are a sin - Islam does not punish inclinations and feelings outside one's control. Islam punishes our misdeeds. And yes, acting on homosexual impulses is a misdeed according to Islam.
I've heard of Muslims who are homosexuals but refrain from the act because they feel that their feelings are a test from Allah and since it is a sin in Islam, they stay away from it.
On a personal level, I have always treated any homosexual I've met in the same as any other person and will continue to do so. I do not feel they should be persecuted, but as far as rights go... I'm sorry, society has a duty to protect its fundamental unit (the family) from anything that threatens it (hence, Islam's prohibitions on fornication, adultery, extra-marital sex etc) and so I do not support gay marriage or gay adoption.
Re: homosexuality
you can tell easily if a person is a gay/lesbian or not .. .. his/her body language tells you that ..

I was going to ask you why doesn't he tell his parents...but knowing desis, they might delve deeper into the mission of getting him married off and setting him...well...straight. lol.
Re: homosexuality
IS this an off shoot of the other thread in Parenting section ![]()
My views are same as i replied in the other thread .. and What PSquared said above esp the first post .. id agree to it perfectly .. i mean no matter how much we re exposed to it .. being a muslim plays a guidline for you .. and if the guideline tells you that homosexuality is a NO NO .. and you go against it .. theres always bad consequences for not following the rules and regulations …
I personally think .. let the Non muslims be ..leave em with their state of mind to accept what ever they want cos they dont have the noor of Imaan .. but any muslim *as i ve heard apparently theres some organisation/i also do remember what in UK a year or so back on channel 4 a documentry was on called ‘‘Gay Muslims’’ .. I mean this is totallly wrong .. its a contradiction in itself ..your either gay or your either muslim .. and ..any muslim if was to come across me or claimed he was gay and muslim at same time .. i would STRONGLY condemn it ..since its not an action no matter how much you cry and weep that its a natural thing and you cant control it disliked by Allah Almighty and Islam prohibits it .. or asking to be called/known as a gay and be called/known as muslim is an Insult to Islamic Teachings and the deen of Allah Almighty..
Re: homosexuality
*Sexuality is fluid for many people. They are not 100% heterosexual or 100% homosexual but there is a gray area where many people are. It is perfectly ok to have sexual thoughts of both sexes. Bisexuality is increasing popular and is getting wide acceptance.
