Sorry Naik bhagi! But i refuse to believe or even contemplate theories such as Darwins one! Its beyong comprehension!! If all things evolve to best conform to their environment then surely the human race is the most developed species - which ultimately means that all animals should one day become humans due to natural selection???? Which i find completely mind boggling!!
Maybe you can explain it to me in a different way!
Vicky, I am sure Naiko will take a stab at your question, but here’s what I think. Evolution takes form in Million of years. The reasonsa all animals didn’t evolve into Humans are because they are distinct species (amphibians, reptiles, etc.). Only last year a fish was caught along the California coast that is thought be the oldest species among marinelife, and goes back to about a Million years.
Million years from now, the Humans will look not like the human look today and many species will disappear and new ones emerge.
You only know about Human species going back to a few thousand years. Think in “millions”.
Homosexuality can be considered ok in San Fransisco because guys there wish to fondle each other's bums in public and it's considered alright by the authorities. In some conservative societies, like Catholic and Muslim, there are religious reasons why it is considered wrong.
Homosexuality is now more acceptable because as a species we are not threatened, there are 6 billions of us and growing. No fear of extinctiion, due food shortage, famine or even war, infact we are too many. If for some reason human being's number became very low, there will be a immeadiate back lash against homosexuuality. There will be tremendous pressure to increase.
The basic instict for any species is to keep the race alive.
Thank you for your explaination NY - but the question which arises is obviously these marine lives have been around for millions of years - so why is it that some animals evolve and others don't? Is natural selection only for certain species? cos certain marine life 'Have adapted to breathing air as well as breathing in water' so why don't they all breathe air?
The way i look at it is ' natural selection' does exist but only considers new born species- as it were- and changes a few things -like for example the use of stealth! But i still find it hard to comprehend that humans were once monkeys - and again why are monkeys still around surely they should all be humans- right?
