Re: Home Workout
I’ve been doing three day split weight lifting since I was 15. Throw in bike, treadmill, rowing machine on alternate mornings before work and yoga on 3 day split rest day as well as football/cricket/hockey/squash/badminton/boxing/working on my allotment garden - I get plenty of exercise.
Re: Home Workout
Push ups are hard, but if you can do plank you can definitely do push ups, its all about upper body strength. I am following this video for push ups:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL1593kROa8
I started with vertical, then progressed to incline (used my study table) then instead of stairs went directly to knee push ups. Even now, after so many days of practice and countless reps my arms still hurt every time i do a push up. Oh well.
Coming to snacks, i eat a lot of unhealthy stuff like chips, chocolates, biscuits, cookies and mithai/halwa (yes we keep these things stocked at our place, no idea why, but its been like this ever since i could remember). I’ve started eating fruits but switching from happy eating to healthy eating takes a lot of patience and will power, which i currently lack.

sorry.
Re: Home Workout
Excuse me, what exactly are you laughing at, it was a serious post. Doing push ups is hard, at least for me it is and yes i can’t do a proper push up even now, but at least i haven’t given up ![]()
Re: Home Workout
Wow, I bet you are a very healthy person.
Re: Home Workout
I have watched the video, I am going to try on stairs today. Once I build up strength then I will start doing the regular ones. Yeah i do planks and I could do push ups too but been a bit lazy.
This is how it is every where ,kahani gher gher ki
we have biscuits, sweets, chocolate, ice cream available all the time. And I used to keep loads of candies, crisps, peanuts, soft energy drinks red bull, boost etc in my bed room. Since i started losing weight, i stopped buying them, now I don’t have them. I just keep dry fruits instead but that too in certain amount. If i buy any thing then I give it to my younger sister so I will not eat it myself and if i keep it, it would always be on my mind until i finish it lol
Almonds and dates are my fav snack , first thing i like to eat in winter ,kind of brain food. I love eating fruits and I can eat them like gorilla.
You are right, it does take a lot of patience, all the best dear.
Re: Home Workout
Why don’t you make a video about push ups to teach us? ![]()
Re: Home Workout
Do it against a wall, after some time start doing against a high table or stairs. Generally speaking, if you’re only looking to lose weight then better to do things like squats etc. They’re easier and work just as well.
Re: Home Workout
Only real exercise that can be done at home (as an alternative to weightlifting without weights), is chin ups for triceps and pull ups for biceps on a chin up bar where you are lifting your own body weight off the ground. The other is the bench dip (great for triceps) but again you are using only a portion of your body weight. http://www.fitnessandfreebies.com/exercise/exercises/bench-dips.png
There is also the standard wide arm push up (for chest) and the diamond push up (for inner chest). Diamond is real hard if you haven’t done it before. Again, you use only a portion of your body weight for this. You can mitigate this and increase the weight on the push up by doing a handstand pushup. http://www.crossfitglacier.co.uk/userfiles/8952/HandStandPushUp.jpg
But this focuses the weight away from the chest and onto the shoulders.
But if your bulking with 550lb benchpresses then most of this will be useless.
