Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

sara, i'm not an expert, but from personal experience because i have sensitive skin its better for me to get threading done and then do the facial the next day, otherwise i've noticed its really hard on my skin to do both the same day.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

Hiya Bulbuli,

Sorry for late reply - had problems wid internet server....

Anyway, d best remedy for blackheads is to have them removed through simple steps as follows:

1) Wash your face
2) Steam ur face (over a hot bowl of water and using towel to keep steam in or by using professional facial steamer)
3) Use a blackhead remover to remove blackheads (i love the Body Shop's blackhead remover, its great)
4) Then apply a mask (i.e. a mud mask) to remove all dirt/impurities from skin and wash off

Another thing is to have regular facials, at least once every 8-10 weeks. This will remove dirt and impurities from pores. If you dont get round to having facials, then other option is to use a Facial Scrub (Boot's own brand is great for this) at least once a week.

Hope that helps.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

Hiya,

I think if your asking about best hair-removal methods for upper lip, i would say definetly threading - not waxing. Because long-term waxing doesnt do any favours to your skin. It stretched the skin and skin begins to lose elasticity over the years. Waxing is excellent for body-hair, i.e. legs, as skin is more taut- whereas skin on the face is very delicate and sensitive so loses elasticity very quickly.

I would recommend threading only for upper lip and eyebrows/shaping and maybe a bleach for any other facial hair. What you can do to releive the pain of threading is try using some talcum powder first - but make sure your skin is cleansed first. Some people swear by moisturiser but i wouldt recommend using that before threading because it would sink into the open pores.

Also, try not to get paranoid and get into bad habit of removing facial hair prematurely. Give the hair time to grow, i would say at least 4-7 days for upper lip before you remove further hair, otherwise it can damage your skin if you start gettin in bad habit of threading every other day, and also itwill most likely result in 'ingrowing hair'.

Another thing, steer away from shaving and hair-removal creams, these are the two worst hair-removal techniques for facial hair.

Hope that helps.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

MYSTERIOUS i didnt get solution to my problem yet...

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

Hiya,

Sorry for l8 reply - had problems wid internet service provider.

Anyway, what you need to do is follow all advice/suggestion i have given on blackheads, blemishes, dark circles in my previous posts.

Also, with regards to vitamins - whoever told u to take ginseng?! that is actually to liven a person up, for lethargy, etc. it doesnt do anything for your skin.

You need to have a good diet consisting of fresh fruit and vegetables - especially raw fruit n veg - as they have a higher content of vitamin C. You should only take vitamins if you are not getting enough of a certain vitamin, so if you dont eat much red meat, you should consider vitamin B, whereas if you dont eat much fruit/veg, you should consider vitamin C.

Most importabt dont over-do it with facials, maximum once a moth, whereas you can treat yourself to a facial scrub once a week. Too much steaming is not good for the skin, so once a month will do.

Drink plenty of water and start using ubtans and try applying honey on face as dat gives a good glow.

Also, drink Saafi as its a blood purifier - it will help get rid of impurities too. And try to avoid too much 'garam' food items, like eggs, ginger, etc and oily/greasy foods as they cause spots.

A trail is also recommended with your Beautician for both Wedding and Walima day as you dont want to end up having a shock on ur big day. So make sure ur Beautician understands fully the kind of look your trying to achieve.

Last but not least make sure you take time out for yourself to relax - your big day is not far away and to look ur best you need to feel ur best. so try and chill out and relax, even if you get one hour on a weekend to just catch up on some of ur favourite hobbies, like reading, listening to music, etc - it will help you relax and keep you focused for the big day.

Hope that helps.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

tanx mysterious: appreciated.
unfortunately cant go for trail make-up seesions, as i will be going to pak 4-5 daz b4 my wedding. so looks like impossible.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

Well, at least get some pics from magazines/brochures together to show ur Beautician on the day so that she gets the idea of the kind of look you're trying to achieve for your big day.

Also, make sure you get your facial and/or bleach done before you get to Pakistan as it takes few days for your skin to calm/settle down. Bcos lot of ppl make the mistake of getting facials done a day or two before their big day and occasionally some ppl with sensitive skin end up with reactions to products used - so do watch out! Although, waxing should be done 1 or two days in advance as you need the effect to last as long as possible.

Hope that helps.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

so is it ok to get face bleached 5 daz b4 wedding? as i think the glow i gt after bleach will be gone in 5 daz,,so no use.

facial i will start now on monthly basis, and final facial when i reach pak. right on taht day or day after as i will be in rush to bazars for shopping and all dust and dirt of pak on my face....so to remove it. wat you say??

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

i will go for bleach & facial only. no threading of face, as i am having laser sittings fr facial hairs.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

Hayatkhans> Laser is great for hair removal as lasts longer. However i wouldnt recommend facial a day or two before wedding - cos your skin make go through changes because of change of environment so last thing you want to do is do facial and open pores, as your skin will be more prone to blackheads if you had a facial so close to your big day.

Remember once you have a facial done you should not apply any make-up for at least 24 hours and definitly try to avoid going out in the bazaar after a facial bcos ur pores are open and if you're in a dusty environment like you say, the dust will clog up your pores and thus result in blackheads and/or spots.

I would definitly suggest facial before you leave for Pakistan that way your skin will settle down and pores will be closed. Who told u that the glowing effect of bleach dies down in 5 days - that's soo wrong. The bleach actually lightens facial hair and gives a glow/lightening effect to skin - so the glow would normally last on average between 2-4 weeks depending on your skin. My bleach lasts about 2 weeks max bcos i cleanse/tone my face two or three times daily. Whereas ppl who dont use much cleansing or make-up products on their face, their bleach lasts longer than others.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

gr8 advice indeed. tanx fr suggestiing me in this matter. which bleach cream you prefer for usage? JOLEN? or any other so taht i buy fr my wedding.

i will see how things go on there in pak with me..as i have to go to bazars definately. no one can buy my shoes ofcourse so search wrk in markets fr best shoes will be done by me. and few other things. i am confused if i get facial from here and tehn go pak..then no use, as right after my arrival have to go to markets and saloon. i will definately let you knw my arrival plans in pak: to get some mre advice from you accordingly. plus any suggestion of home made treatment for BLack Lips,,, excess use of lipsticks turned my lips blackish. plz advice. and hair fall is major problem of this country any tip on it.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

all wat i can do is change my arrival paln from 5 daz before wedding to 1 week before big day.

Re: Need sum help or tips on Beauty matters?

Hi again,

I would recommend Jolen as it's the best available bleach on the markets. You may want to try the sensitive version if it's d first time ur bleaching.

For black lips, lay off lipstick (especially dark colours), use coloured lip-gloss for going out if you want as it doesnt stain lips as lipstick does. Also, whenever you brush your teeth, always start by wetting ur lips and 'brushing' your lips first with dry toothbrush in circular motion - this will get rid of dead skin cells and to keep lips moist apply vaseline every night - overall your lip condition will improve.

Hope that helps.
