Re: Home made naan
Yes, we have. There is a recipe by FF, It always work great.
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp instant yeast ( I just use the whole packet which is equivalent to 2 tbsps of yeast)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1tbsp sugar
In warm milk mix yeast and sugar. Let it sit couple minutes. Mix oil and salt in all purpose flour. Then use the milk mixture to kneed the dough. Let the dough sit for at least 1 hour in dark and warm place. I normally cover my dough with a warm damp cloth.
For baking, turn the broiler on high. Heat a cookie sheet. Make naans and broil them on the cookie sheet under broiler 1-2 minutes each side. When the come out, spread some butter on the top.
You must use different sized cups for flour and milk. If they are of same size, then its only 17% hydration. Am pretty sure we need atleast 25% hydration for desi breads. Or maybe you meant 3/4 cup milk?
