Thanks for posting guys and sadiaa thanku so much for some great ideas :k:
Have you any ideas about bedroom furniture ?? it’s not for me coz i have done my shopping …I Dont like dark woods for the bedroom so my bedroom set is light wood . I am asking for someone else who keep asking me for advice .
As for bedroom we are set now just need lamps n paintings .
Shahreen off course i will put kids pictures on walls but not that much .
Do any of you guys have Tapestry hanging on their walls instead of a painting? I found a store which has some awesome tapestry.....since there is such a large collection, it's difficult to select...but soon i'll be buying one.
I just wanted to know if there is a particular way of putting them on the walls?
Mehros, about bedroom furniture, yes I don’t like dark wood also, but if you do have dark wooden furniture, then you may combine with white or creme decoration, walls should be plain white, this will make the room look like a tropical island look, I would not combine with dark colours then.
If your walls are painted in dark colour, lets say blue or red then you may also get white furniture, if you have plain white walls and light wooden furniture, then you can add decorations with colour.
You can get bamboo furniture with white bedsheets and dried brown grass decoration, which looks awesome in the bedroom.
Jal_Pari, tapestry as wall paper ?? well all I know paints are more easy to use and to over paint, where as tapestry is a lot of hard work to apply, u have to make the glue then apply on the paper and stick it on the wall and let it dry.

I believe she meant hanging tapestries instead of framed art i.e. paintings. NOT putting tapestries on walls instead of paint :)
Jal-Pari, tapestries could be nice, depends on your decor, size of the tapestry in relation to teh size of the room and what the tapestry has on it. Majority of them are pretty traditional and would thus look out of place with a modern style, unless done properly and just may be one as a contrast.
The way you are going to put one up will vary on the size of the tapestry and the height of the walls and of course the style of the decor. For a large tapestry on a high wall in a traditional setting, I would suggest you hang it using tabs on a wooden or metallic (antiqued) rod..and finials that do not clash with the rest of the decor or the tapestry itself
for a smaller tapestry you can have tabs and hang it on decorative hooks. this would also look better in a smaller place.
for a more contemporary place, use very short tabs which are on a rod, but the end of the rods have a hanging string, chain that can then be hung over a deocratives hook.
