errrr they are not? au contraire..i would bet any day that a majority of guys would not like that.
Thats why its good to start with a colour that both spouses can live with. same goes with texture and patterns.
*I know what men think, they are obsessed with darker shades, especially navy blue and black, which gives a cooler feeling, *
not for curtians and paint :)
*but being in a norther european country Mehroo should go with warmer colours/shades *
right and light blue and pink can not be considered "warmer colours"
** Light blue and pink with addition to some other colours, that I mentioned above can make a really good combination with which both, wife and husband can live with.**
right now looking at your previous point and the point before... if you are going to have to mix it up with some warmer colours anyways..what is teh diff between pink and blue's coldness or blue and black's supposed coldness?
if you look at the a colour wheel, and start looking at warmer colours..I think that attempting to mix pastels with warm colours will lead to pretty horrid results, unless managed very very delicately. it would then be better to go with bolder shade than lighter shades, because pastels do not mix well with warmer tones.
*As for the style of the room, it should be something 'neutral', *
kewl, so we agree :)
*I would say classic or modern, as the same look can get boring with time and with the neutral look you can easly change the style of the room with some simple handgriffs, *
By modern i meant stuff like mies van der rohe, nogucchi, eames style..which is an acquired taste and requires a commitment to it.
the style would also depend on the type of place one has. certain types of pieces look better in certain surroundings..its not to say its impossible but takes much more finesse in styling a downtown loft in a tropical island style, than doign the same thing in a villa in a tropical island.
